You don't really have to trade all that much. Find a great company, buy a shit ton, sell OTM covered calls against your position. If it goes up, you profit plus keep the premiums. If it goes down, you don't profit right away, but you still keep the premium and your stock so you can do it again next month (or week). If you find a great company, but think it's too expensive, hold some cash and sell puts on it at a price you would be willing to buy. Keep the premiums, keep your cash, and should the day come where there's a market dump (like now) people would be blowing their loads all over you and paying for the privilege. Then you sit back with your new beautiful, cheap stock in a great company, and sell covered calls.
