The markets will start tanking in march /biz/, what biomedical companies should we start investing in to make money during the crash? What companies produce testing kits, masks, and medical supplies? If we buy their stock before March we'll all be rich.

Also make sure you have moved all of your 401k funds into bonds by March unless you want your retirement funds wiped out.

you're thinking too small. What you should be asking is what companies outside of china are in the business of producting precursors to medical products that are required in western supply chains. You should be asking the same question about every chinese industry that acts as a part of the global supply chain. Invest in china's direct competitors.

Already started accumulating GILD ABBV NVS LAKE SLV and buying march/april puts on QQQ and S&P eMini futures. Dumped all my other equities thursday and friday except for a couple healthcare-related longterm holds that I sold covered calls against.

Gold is a little toppy atm, but I have a little exposure. Will add more once it gets an RSI reset.

Food commodities are still holding, but now would be a good time to accumulate some futures in staples in preparation for not only the wuhan virus supply chain disruption, but the locust plague. That has not been priced in yet.

Inovio apparently made a coronavirus vaccine, but it was just them getting a computer simulation done. It is currently selling around $5 per share, BUT if they do develop it and hit the market first it may be YUGE. I might fuck around and buy a few shares just cause.

This is coming from an anon that was telling you NEETs to buy sprint stock last summer. Could’ve doubled your money on that.

steel, rubber, precursors for basically every single prescription therapy and antibiotic, components for radars and circuit boards and imaging equipment. Ironically i think china getting de facto embargoed by the world will be good for food prices in the US, and for the meat packing industry stateside as a lot of our exports go to china, and we actually send animals to be processed in china then returned to the US. I don't know why the OP image thinks plastic is going to be ok. The majority of basic materials for plastic formulation like anti-oxidants and flame retardants are produced in china, with a small subset that can't be scaled up coming out of south america. Maybe he knows something I don't know about Dow and BASF and Chemtura being able to scale up production - all the patents were originally held by them so maybe they can rapidly change up production. Also ironically if you trade in commodities now is the time to start thinking of shorting lithium. With chinese consumption dropping off the face of the earth demand for lithium is going to crater. This also means that australian rare earth miners will be impacted and all of their collateral industries.

This is just a little from my expertise, off the top of my head. China is the factory for the world so the implications are endless. Winners will be those companies with anti-fragile supply chains who's customers are also anti-fragile. Or those like i mentioned above who can rapidly shift production to meet their internal consumption of components and raw materials. Or those corps that have vertically integrated supply chains.

Why would I buy puts if I expect something to go up? Are you new?

I buy puts on the general market and overbought trash like AMD. I buy calls or shares on stocks like GILD or SLV when I expect them to go up, duh. Not everything is going to go down in this situation, but most will.

Stick to stocks until you understand options. You're going to get burned, anon.

Smart ideas, anon. Going to look into this.

Also, I've said it for a long time, but during events like this, the one true semi to own will be INTC. It fabs its owns shit and most of its capacity is located outside of Chinkland. AMD is fucked.

If you want to gamble on the US market look at major indices tracking the united states economy.
SPY, SPXL and TQQQ (these two are leveraged) for example, buy puts for a month+ out
To do it, go to settings, sign up for options, go to SPY, SPXL or TQQQ, click trade options. Go to a time around late march to early april, buy a put at a strike price lower than the current price. If you can get approved for spreads you might want to sell a put at a much lower strike too to limit your losses. Don't buy puts too low, don't go more than like 5% under current price.
I'm not encouraging you to do this necessarily, don't blame me if it doesn't pan out. I don't actually think it's a good idea lmfao, If I'm wrong you could make bank though.
