Will counter that counter with this: SPCE might go up to 50 or 60 but it's based on pure fucking hype. You're talking about a 90 minute ride to the edge of space for 250k, even Mr. Branson said he was expecting 1,500 customers in 2023. And you guys are fucking delusional if you think this is gonna be a good choice for hypersonic travel. It's going to be expensive as hell and only really have applications for the extremely wealthy. At least concorde was a normal plane, this has 10x the complexity and a pretty abysmal safety track record so far. Not to mention that runways would probably have to be extended. Would you risk dying(or paying in excess of 50k) for a 4 hour faster flight to paris. Not to mention Elon and Blue origin are working on P2P and space tourism with much deeper pockets and more experience. Do not long SPCE, swing trade it though, FOMO could be off the charts. i do swing trade too. im currently swinging AMD, i bought the dip and it's still going up after i sold half of my position at my initial take profit. i bought in at $48 during that nCoV dip. right now i like to scalp at work when i have down time. in and out in 10 minutes or less usually, many times for only a minute or two. tick charts are your friend.

You're conflating things. Active managers just pick stocks and do a 60/40 shitty meme bond/stock portfolio that, of course, will never beat the market and will still lose money during a recession. On top of that they're collecting management fees. There are plenty of people that very consistently beat the market, and do extraordinarily well. They aren't following the dogshit advice that fund managers tell their clients.

that's a complicated question, which i have a good idea of the answer to but it would take a while to type out and i don't feel like it. but plenty of people day trade successfully, look up chat with traders and listen to some of the ones of people who day trade for examples. they even tell you what their methods are.

the reason is because there is an insane difference between making 10% on tens of thousands of dollars, vs. tens of BILLIONS of dollars. orders of magnitude difference. you can't scalp with billions of dollars worth of shares, that should be obvious. but a retail trader? no problem. market doesnt even notice even 1k shares of AMD, look at how much volume is traded every 1 minute.

Most day trading firms, including those using quantitative analysis, don't beat the market. Renaissance Technologies, which probably has the best black box fund on the planet and is full of quants hasn't beat a 2x S&P 500 ETF. Obviously with management fees, most fund managers wouldn't be able to even if everything was randomized anyway, but even among top firms regardless of what they specialize in, it rare than anyone constantly beats it. Which means two things, either it doesn't work that on such a high level or there's a global conspiracy where a bunch of people are making money with stocks that isn't accounted for in information released to the public.

It's very out of my league but I want to take a shot.I get the feeling also that trading desks at places like JPM get the absolute best of the best of the best and it concentrates success because of not only the prestige of the name but the huge compensation they can afford to pay these people. Deutsche Bank, by comparison, has had years and years of trading losses and from what I can remember they have just about abandoned that revenue stream altogether. I've been buying DB for the last few months (up over 40% currently) and have gotten to understand some of the reasons they are in the position they are. Massive companies like JPM just scalp all of the talent away and those top traders aren't going to go to a place like DB out of the goodness of their hearts, like none of us would. I believe strongly in Christian Sewing's reorientation of DB and I try to shill it here when I can. DB is doing better because they've realized that they can only keep the lights on by doing what they have always made money doing, basic banking.

Abbott is not going to see any upside from this. It's going to be $GILD and remdesivir. The Chinese, through one of their drug companies BrightGene, have already reached mass production capacity on this medication. They've indicated that they'll abide by patent norms and give $GILD a good licensing agreement. Remdesivir has proven itself against Ebola and was only beaten in that situation by monoclonal antibodies which take six to eight months to develop.

The Chinese government has started a Phase III trial on remdesivir and the results will be coming out in May. Even if the outbreak dies out by that time, $GILD getting a proven broad-spectrum anti-viral on its portfolio and government stockpiling demands will push the stock to seventy-five dollars a pop.

According to the S&P 500 Persistence Scorecard: December 2019, just 8% of domestic equity funds remained in the top quartile over a three-year period.

The people that beat the market managing money professionally aren't consistently doing it. Over a 15 year period, almost no one will. I think they did a study where they found just a few companies that have done it. Where are the successful money managers? They're not winning in any area, it should be trivial for them to beat the market with a slightly higher weight on some of the top stocks favored by retail investors like Amazon and Google.

If S&P futures down but no really bad news, wait until end of day and buy calls.

If there is very bad news over the weekend, short positions.

Well, let me put it this way. ARQL had some efficacy in their phase1b trial, and a similar market cap and share count. They spiked to over 10 bucks a share on a few partial remissions, and then were bought out for 20 a share within 2 months. So that's the historical precedent, but I have a feeling SNSS upswing will be less than that. I expect maybe $5 a share before buyout, and maybe $12-17 for the buyout.

Most money managers don't work for hedge funds, which do usually perform very well during recessions. Instead they are just very heavily in US equities and basically have high risk portfolios because of it. They don't typically do much hedging at all and eat shit during downturns like everyone else.

Now I fully accept that the average fund has slightly less risk than the S&P 500 index due to better diversification, but that doesn't explain their serious lack of performance. They're worse at picking stocks than random chance. All those resources, billions of dollars of research and analysis, hiring the top minds in the world, it's all wasted and would get beaten by a literal retard randomly selecting stocks.

If you want a little bit of all the good stuff, buy SPY or QQQ
If you want dividends, go all in on just 2 high yield divs (5-10%, any higher is a fake dividend, double check that they are actually paying out).
If you want div + growth, just stick to KO, F, and AMD
If you want high risk/reward, buy only SPCE and AMD

The irony is that Tesla beat every single meme stock talked about here by a wide margin last year, yet barely anyone here talked about it because it's market cap is so large they were unable to move it.

For the record, I have no opinion about SNSS itself, I don't care and never held a position in it, but if someone is going to spend all day talking about all the money they made from it, basically coming here full time to shill it, they should show us their profit.

I've been trading for years, but I love to do it and have high risk tolerance. This is not the norm. The most common advice is to just buy ETFs or a mix of solid companies (like the top ones from the 3 major indexes). Buy and hold. Its easy and you don't need to think or worry. Try this for a year, make a plan and buy, and just hold and watch. Don't buy or sell. Just watch. See how the changes in the market make you feel. Then decide if you want more risk or less.

Probably true, but they still pay dividends right now, and are cheap. If it takes them 15 years to die, you'd already earned your investment back from dividends. Assuming no other car company buys them out. They still make money and are a favorite of many big banks, so its not that risky.

Volatility constantly drops, even in a bear market. Why wouldn't you go all-in leveraged spy, SPXL, or Svxy all the time? Not betting against volatility has to be the dumbest trade. And some funds keep doing it. Just look at the chart. UVXY, 1 year, HELLO? how is this not the most obvious trade in existence, short volatility long term, guaranteed profits. It's free money. >It's free money.

so i've been fantasizing about what i'm gonna do when i make it after my debauchery, and i really want multiple wives.
but polygamy is illegal, HOWEVER thanks to our modern times i don't have to get married.
i can just be polyamorous and have a fat harem of gf's that basically live on my compound and chill together and come and go as they please.
but they also have to birth white children and i also would need to have some sort of contractual arrangement with them.
but i'll be damned if a huge portion of women wouldn't do pretty much anything to sit on their ass, shoot the shit, and pop a baby out every once and again.
might just collect those mail order russian brides one at a time but sneak some clauses on them.
then knock them up, divorce them, and keep them around to basically do whatever they wanted as long as they gave me at least three children.
have to probably get fucky with the child support aspects if i'm planning on having like 20 kids

Brokers require approval because people have to learn some rough lessons especially if they go in to options trading heavily all at once when they're inexperienced.

There's no real consequence to an option expiring, except that the premiums you paid vanish. People can spend hundreds, thousands, really however much they want, and then it's all gone at the end of the week because they didn't understand the risks.

Options are really where investing becomes gambling. There are some useful ways to use them to hedge against catastrophe, but that's not the exciting part. The exciting part of buying options is basically gambling.

Yes, that was also zero risk when the shilling started here around 14 dollars. It dipped greatly on some fda delay.

Biotech Value Fund released a hell of a 13G today for Sunesis, they now own almost 10%, and are the second largest shareholder of SNSS behind Aisling http://archive.fast-edgar.com//20200215/AJ2ZR222U2225JZ2222E2ZEPG9N6Z222BP22/

You bought SNSS, right anon? Because it's fucking happening.

Yep, for the record, I do. Take crtx as an easy example. They make a drug which inhibits an enzyme of gingivalis, which is most responsible for it's virulence. Their indication is Alzheimer's disease. Now, this gingivalis bacterium goes into your brain from your mouth. They saw these bacteria inside neurons with electron microscope. They even concluded that they prefer to eat the e4 variant of apoe, which is coded by the ape4 gene, the most important prognostic factor in Alzheimer's. There also also tons of epidemiological data linking dental diseases with Alzheimer's probability. The company has cash to go all the way through their phase3. Their previous trial showed a reduction in inflammation and sufficient target engagement. There really are no questions here. Problem is they are already near 1.5bil, so you could get a 4x from here till the end. Sava, galt, lci are only a bit higher risk, but they are much better value right now

who cares, buy some other shit. just buy all kinds of shit and broaden your exposure, i mean my gf is a fucking gook so not only did I get laid, but she bought me lobster and clams. She gave me this device that steams and cooks eggs with water... it's almost like she wants me to knock her up. our children would probably be happas, but she's that rare breed of gook that's got the dark reddish hair and pink nipples while i'm blonde... damn... I just told her she has to wait until white day for her present, and get 4 weeks, since it's leap year an extra day. fuck I think I'ma marry her. her birthday is 2 weeks after white day... I think i'm going to use a whole year to wait to propose and just get her a rolex watch or something for white day.

Yeah when you think about how dumb the average person is, and then have to remind your self that 50% of people are dumber than that.... Fuck it just buy everything, equities, gold, silver and bonds. there's no reason not to buy other peoples debt if you get what you pay for.
