Then the stock shoots to $1 per share and I sell it for 200 dollars.
Is that 200 dollars taxed in and of itself, or is it only taxed when I transfer it to my bank account? Or can I use the +200 and reinvest in Y stock without having to pay taxes on the 200?

E-trade does all the work for you. They put up all the paperwork around the 15th - 18th of February you need on the site. Then you just download it. Literally just "fill in the blank" type deal. They also send a copy to the IRS so yeah trying to uh cheat won't do you any good.
