Generally not too much difference, it really depends how often you're talking about 10% swings. More important is how it depends on the specific stock, developments in that sector, and news that would effect how that company is going to preform.
I know some stocks that swing about 5% to 10% every month or so and have stayed within the same 15% price range variance. So there are stocks that you can ride big waves like that on.

Okay, so suppose you've got an option with a Delta of 0.35. That means that the price of it moves by 35% of the change in the underlying stock. Since it's a contact on 100 shares, another way of saying this is that it's price moves the same amount as 35 shares of the underlying.
