Is chainlink a scam? im joining the navy in a month and considering selling my 1oz gold coin and putting the $1600ish i'll get into LINK.

but.

im going to be going into navy training for 8 weeks soon and not sure if keeping LINK in my crypto account that long is a bad idea since bad news could come out and i won't be able to sell.

thoughts?

right but gold has intrinsic value, if another token overtakes this it becomes worthless

Scam, no single relevant real world use-case.

Outcome of the Google partnership is only about moving ETH Gas price to a Google database:
https://docs.chain.link/docs/big-query-chainlink-testnet

Mainnet has only crypto data to offer:
https://docs.chain.link/docs/chainlinks-ethereum-mainnet

No real world use-case except crypto market and weather data as of today.

>> No.17054862

>>17054846
but in the future will it have more real world uses as it further develops? or is it literally just crypto gambling and weather data? how would it get to the price its at now unless its a giant pump n dump if those are the only use cases?

that's why I told you to research, but long story short they have a giant head start. They've already started on mainnet with dedicated price feed oracles from trusted node operators, approved by Chainlink themselves. They are literally showing all the major enterprises that are curious about this tech that it works and can be trusted. Several companies have basically told you that LINK is the one but you are asking me to spoonfeed you instead, Google, Oracle, Docusign. Once the adoption starts and the benefits show, EVERYONE WILL FOLLOW. Token holders will stake and start a decentralized network and the party will start. Read in your sparetime every day. You are here because you know something feels right about LINK, DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY.

>couldn't replicate it, but better?

solid question. I have doubts myself, but can't you say the same about bitcoin, ethereum, etc?

there can be some competition in the future, but by the time it arrives link will be far on the top to be threatened I think, just like BTC.

fucking google could have enough money/personnel to build their oracles and they decided it's just more profitable for them to use link as oracles instead of building their own. There is evidence that microsoft has also partnered up with them, swift, also pretty much every defi/coin/protocol is making a partnership with link, even some really good startups such as docusign and some chinese startup that is backed up by the CCP (which I forgot the name now)

''hur durr partnerships don't mean anything, muh working product''

Bitcoin is far from legit yet, tons of fud on btc already, yet you understand the risk to reward, or else you wouldn't invest in it, right? same thing with link. absolutely humongous risk to reward, really. possibly just like ethereum back in the days. Hell, there is even tons of fud on ethereum as well kek.

some of the stuff I posted is not OFFICIAL, but some official news might hit the market literally any time. So how do I know that? breadcrumbs. autists here found lots of those. and before link officially released the partnership info some anons were already aware of it, just like of microsoft/others.

>> No.17055558

one more thought: I believe gold is a legit way to preserve your wealth, not to build it. Once I make it I will definitely protect some of my wealth into it because it performs great against inflation.

You really can't compare it. if you had 1 million and wanted to preserve that wealth the safest way it would be super legit to perhaps have 90% in gold and sell 5% and put it on link but come on, how is preserving around 3k usd against inflation making you rich?

the same 3k put in link can make you 50x, if not more in a 1-2 years period while gold can maybe make you what, 30-50%? 100% in an extreme black swan scenario?

those are my thoughts. I'm aware link is not perfect and totally fud-free but that's it. hope I helped you with my 2 cents

Yes they're a scam. Just go talk to the guys over at Tellor (hell or even Augur), oracles are hard and slow. If you claim to be fast and decentralized, we know you're full of shit if you're a layer 1 coin, but for some reason link gets away with it because they're an oracle. No, they're a rude goldberg machine with a security token

Learn the chain of command and memorize the emblems of the ranks. There will be alot of E-6-E-10 ranked military personnel you must address accordingly or you’ll get smoked. The difference between E-9 and E-10 in regards to identifying them through the emblem on their uniform is small so don’t fuck it up

Yes, Chainlink seems like a promising project. Yes, it seems like the team is full of geniuses. Loads of partnerships. The world is going to run on LINK! Right?
Before you buy, let me tell you a story.
I was visiting San Francisco to see one of my friends. We went to a strip club, and while I was there I saw Sergey, surrounded by women. He was throwing tons of money at them, but not just bills. It was stacks upon stacks of $10,000, sealed up with white paper bands like he had just come straight from a bank.
I went up to him and congratulated him on the success of Chainlink as of late (this was about a month ago), and he started laughing. He took a hefty swig from a bottle of Dom Perignon and said, "Yeah? You think I care, stinky?"
Confused, I asked what he meant, and said that he had obviously put a lot of work into LINK and he should be proud.
"Fundamentally, I don't give two fucks about Chainlink, kid."
He was about to say something else but one of the strippers tapped him on the shoulder. Sergey pulled out from his pocket the biggest ziplock bag full of cocaine I've ever seen in my life. It looked like one of those gallon bags, almost bulging at the seams. The stripper ran off into a back room with it.
He then pulled out a Zippo lighter.
"You wanna know what I think about Chainlink?"
He snapped his fingers and a stripper handed him a bottle of Hennessy. He then pulled about 20 stacks of bills from a duffel bag, threw them on the floor, poured cognac all over them. He flicked his Zippo and dropped it onto the pile. Almost instantly the whole stack caught.
I stared at him, speechless.
"It's called a 'PUMP and DUMP,' kid."
He laughed as he watched the pile burn before losing interest and going into a back room with his entourage of strippers following carrying duffel bags full of what I assume was money and coke.
This is the man you are supporting by buying LINK.
