Idk, I can honestly say that I'm done with crypto for awhile. In the past 2 monthsfor fun I've turned $700 into 3k trading options. Should have been doing it for over the last year while the stock market was killing it. Instead I held and lost almost 2/3 of my investment in ftm. I'm hoping once my tokens unbond, I can take the rest of the money and make it back continuing to trade options.

Chen said the high rewards was an incentive to get stakers early. As the more staked means the more can be issued on chain :P

But I told him it makes no difference if the price falls off a cliff. If this goes to 2m market cap it's useless and has failed. Everyone would have staked for 10% and no lock up. All this does is attract idiots. Try staking on algorand. It's much easier and you can unstake instantly any time.

Since they released the fantom wallet and staking, the price has crashed. The team went from fomo all day everyday to going silent since the staking. All this hype for it, for over a year and it finally comes out. It seems like the reason they did it was to force people to hold through the drop. Which in hindsight is pretty fucked up, especially when they go incognito. The longer you hold the more you risk losing everything because of the unlocking mechanics. The point of rewards isnt to lose all your money by holding the token for them as the price dips, its supposed to be for delegating nodes and helping the network. The amount I had earned in rewards since staking with the wallet was available is no where near the amount of money I have lost since. Also, the uncertainty with being able to claim your tokens/rewards and immediately being able to send to an exchange or another wallet is bad. Super bad optics all around since the fantom wallet dropped, which they fomo'd like it would boost the price and everyone would be holding and staking and the price would be going up and people would be jumping on it and making it moon while getting paid the rewards on top... the opposite happened. the way I look at it, not investment advice or anything, but enterprises, banks etc like the idea of Ethereum but the scalability is just not there (yet). Fantom started from scratch and there are a lot of improvements in the pipeline in 2020, plus some significant partnerships already. I am not a trader so I am holding this in the long term, all or nothing. I think there is a decent chance FTM will become one of the big ones, Andre has done an extensive review and he is quite positive, why would he put his own reputation on the line for a scam? I think we just have to wait and see what will happen.

The people staking are the ones that will be most fucked. They will be the only ones holding. The are the ones taking all the risk for the project. Everyone else wouldnt have their tokens locked, and could sell as soon as the price goes up, if it goes up, while at the same time having better entry points than all the stakers because the price has dropped so much. I dont see any scenario where stakers come out on top. Look at a crypto calculator and add your rewards to the amount of fantom you have and see how much you are down.
