17011036 No.17011036 [Reply] [Original]

So let’s talk about how Ethereum is the closest thing to a quantum computer that humanity has so far.

Another point I wanted to bring up: all the other companies (google, IBM, etc.) claiming to have quantum computers are not being entirely genuine. They have pseudo-quantum processors that mimic the coherence of quantum systems but are not actually physically conducting quantum computations.

It is my understanding that they never will achieve quantum computation the way that they are thinking now.

The reason why I say that ethereum is the closest thing we currently have to a true quantum computer has to do with the consensus algorithm. When Ari Juels developed the “proof of work” consensus algorithm in 1999 with the Cornell team I don’t think that even they fully appreciated what was happening.

It is precisely this consensus algorithm which makes the crypto currency networks that use these algorithms quantum machines.

This is also the reason why the other “classical” isolated quantum machines built by private companies will never achieve what they set out to do.

It is my firm understanding that we will recognize DLTs (distributed ledger technologies) with specific types of consensus algorithms as the true quantum networks in the future.

People just haven’t fully figured it out yet, but they will. And once they do then we will really start to understand what’s happening. Mark my words.

I'm starting to believe more and more that some scriptfag has started to use some AI to post random generations to biz.

Why would anyone come to biz to talk about quantum computers? And why would he think he has a better understanding of cryptography than Ari Juels? WTF does Ethereum have to do with quantum computing? All of this is so nonsensical it has to be the work of an AI...

There is no such thing as AI
The problem with modern scientists is that they make the mistake of thinking that “computation” is the end all be all, so to speak.
They can’t fathom that it’s a bigger problem than just how much or how fast you can compute.

Bonus question for the smart anons in this thread:
Why do you think currency and cryptography are so inter-related? Particularly in the context of the rise of “cryptocurrencies” aka DLTs, why are DLTs such a revolution when it comes to the concept of currency?

Bonus boner question:
Why are DLTs such a better alternative to traditional currencies (fiat or otherwise)? And do you think it will lead to a separation of state and the issuance of currency in the same way that the church and state were separated in the west?

>So let’s talk about how Ethereum is the closest thing to a quantum computer that humanity has so far.
everyone is so focused on the financial aspect of things and while that is definitely important, the underlying physical basis of these networks is the reason why they are so valuable

The ethereum network is a distributed global computer, with the network using the "proof of work" consensus algorithm to mint new tokens. Keep in mind that consensus in the network is arrived at by many different nodes operating all over the globe in a "simultaneous" manner.

Keep in mind time-zones and latencies when conceptualizing this network in your mind.

This is why these kinds of networks are valuable.

This is also why there is so much misinformation in this industry (particularly with nomenclature). It is my understanding that due to the financial focus of this new DLT technology that we are missing the forest for the trees, so to speak.

Because of the confusion in language, terminology, and nomenclature, we fail to understand that these networks are the true quantum computers that we've all been talking about.

The private corporations that are trying to build a black box quantum computer in their labs are unable to achieve true quantum processing. This is because they fail to appreciate the subtlety involved in having continuous quantum coherence without de-coherence talking place when you "read" and "write" to the computer.

What the US government has done with the invention of DLT is a stroke of genius. They purposefully don't call these things "quantum networks" and instead label them "cryptocurrency" so that most people will brush it off as a gimmick and nothing more than gambling. Meanwhile, this technology is how the US and their allies will ensure world supremacy for this next century.

Chainlink of course is the next step in the evolution of quantum networks. And of course /ourguy/ Ari is involved.

Nice digits
PoW consensus algorithm mirrors the way in which quantum states decohere
Many “observers” come to a consensus via “observation operators” on the superposition of a quantum state
I’ll give you a good example:
“What’s the block that were hashing now”
“They call this block “2020”

In much the same way, only one viable block (aka one reality) collapses out of many possibilities (superpositions) during the process of mining

A few questions

Is the time distributed consensus is the basis for what you are calling quantum computing?

Wouldn't atomic clocks predate this by a longshot?

Why would this distributed ledger have anything to do with what gets dicks hard about quantum computing? There's no way for them to solve qbit algorithms, so wouldn't that make them de facto not quantum computers?

What do you mean by 'understand what's happening'? This is a statement so vague there is basically no meaning. Happening in regards to what? What is the significance?

>Is the time distributed consensus is the basis for what you are calling quantum computing?
time is one variable
the method by which proof of work miners come to a consensus on what is the true block is a direct parallel with the way in which a superposition of potential quantum states collapses (decoheres) when an observer operates on the quantum superposition by interacting and measuring it in some way

>>17014742
>Wouldn't atomic clocks predate this by a longshot?
atomic clocks track time via radioactive (nuclear) dynamics, which have quantum features in and of themselves

>>17014742
>There's no way for them to solve qbit algorithms
they're coming to a probabilistic consensus via a globally distributed computing grid comprised of nodes and the features of DLTs', namely immutability and encryption, are what the aims of quantum computers are (cryptography being the biggest application)

>>17014742
>What do you mean by 'understand what's happening'?
I'm referring to the fact that cryptocurrency is the sequel to the manhattan project in the sense that they mislead the public by labelling it "cryptocurrency" instead of the actual technical term of "quantum network/computer" which is what ethereum already is

What I'm saying is that this whole thing is a government/military project and MMORPG games were the first roll out of these kinds of tests/trials
I'm not joking. Steve Bannon was running Chinese gold mining farms in the early days of WoW.

All of those games, especially WoW, were used as data mining and statistics goldmines where entire treasure troves of human/social models could be simulated and played out in real time and then applied later in real life.

Don't believe me?
Imagine this scenario:

no one can double dip in the honey pot and game the system to their advantage since, by its very nature, no single entity is in control of the network and therefore cannot manipulate

Why are MMOs and social experiments related to distributed consensus networks -- beyond arbitrary stuff like 'MMOs are distributed'?

How could you utilize these things as a method of societal control if they are decentralized and controller-less by their very design?

pokemon go was another extension of this type of system
I'm not saying that MMOs or pokemon go are quantum networks but rather that those were applications developed in collaboration with the military (look at the show "Person of Interest") or read Ari Juels' book Tetraktys where they talk specifically about MMORPGs

I see DLTs or Blockchain as a foundation for future AI or neural networks.

Not so sure about your quantum computer theory.
On a lower scale quantum computers are defined by quantum mechanics and not by binary computation like Eth.
I also think there is a key component missing at the moment.
More efficient algorithms and advancement in physics may be also needed.

Name and author? I'm reading Lectures on Ancient Philosophy by Manly P. Hall. Highly recommend. Sheds light on a lot of occultism and the esotericism of exoteric religions like Christianity for example.

interesting ideas, man. i think that quantum computation and blockchain technology will one day be connected, most definitely if blockchain tech is to be secure. it's interesting to speculate the future of these things and the way they may be working together. it's extremely important that we do contemplate and express our ideas or the technological application may never be explored. an interesting time to be alive indeed
