I run a node and have a fair bit of experiance with eth and I've no idea how to get what the job is performing in the hex values in the evnts tab for the transactions. For the jobs on my own node I can see the value that's being passed but I can't see that value is usd/eth.

The job this node is performing also seems to be sending a pile of data on a run while mine doesn't send any. The data is contained in the topics

The point of staking is to ensure honesty for high value smart contract operations, when you're swapping assets worth more than your salary. Since Staking isn't out, jobs currently used for that are going to be the nodes the Chainlink team thoroughly vets. If you're not taking on high value contracts, there's no need to be disruptive and dishonest (where's the value in that?) ergo, no need for staking to work.
