Galt, obviously. Viral infections tend to upregulate galectins. This is because galectins bind to the virus and inhibit the proliferation. However, if the galectin expression stays too long after the infection has been dealt with, it is likely to cause other pathologies, so inhibition is beneficial in a controlled manner. This is the case for hepatitis-c induced liver fibrosis for example. It's quite interesting

AFAIK Xiaomi has yet to release a standard earnings report, the numbers are a bit of a mistery. However, I'm following word of mouth (not about the stonk per se, about the company and its products) and it seems pretty solid. High specs in their devices with a very low price. No advertising expenses, almost. The prices are VERY low and the products (the mobiles in particular) are quality. I'm a eurofag and yesterday I walked into one of their MI stores (a la applestore but chink) and everything looked pretty good and you definitely can't beat the price. I see what they're doing, catering to tech-savvy people on a budget or simply rejecting samsung/apple hegemony. I don't use android so I don't really give a fuck, but I can see why their model works. I'm glad I dumped some cash on this stonk so far. It's still very cheap.

>> No.16968066

Only Tesla owners will survive the chink virus. The filtered air is like breathable Lysol. They use the largest HEPA filter in the industry, it's ten times larger then their competition. This is a feature that consumers don't even know about yet and it may increase demand for their cars in China with their poor air quality. No one wants to breathe that shit.

"100 times more effective than premium automotive filters” as it removes “at least 99.97% of fine particulate matter and gaseous pollutants, as well as bacteria, viruses, pollen and mold spores."

For devices like phones, that mean if you open setting or music apps then you can see ads pushed by xiaomi in those screens. It's obviously higher with higher leverage but it's not that bad. If you look up spxl and compare the tops and bottoms in relation to each other to spy's (tops and bottoms)-relation you can see a slight downward shift on spxl...what is an higher high on spy is maybe just a equal high or even lower high on spxl. This is the volatility decay but also fees. It's really not that bad though especially not in a bull market. Just don't hold through a recessions. The awful decay of things like nugt, jnug, usoil.... comes from a futures specific thing called contango and doesn't apply here.

Yes it will. This is now a confirmed sustained downturn.

The two questions however are
1. Will the market react quicker to these signals this time? With Wilshire GDP and CAPES being at all time highs this is likely to be an equity collapse first and foremost, so I say yes we will see a fast moving and sustained bear market sooner rather than later as happened in 2006-07
2. Will inflation offset the declining growth, will the fed kill the dollar? This is what crypto has been leading up to, the market will have a major correction before we see the fed release the floodgates so I would play bearish, look veryyyy carefully at signs for foreign dollars flowing back into the US though and not being reported for inflation.

No I bought a put on a 3x long smallcap etf, decay on leveraged longs means it's more likely to hit my price point then buying a call on a 3x short fund. Mostly it's gambling, I just wanted to put a little money where my mouth is. Foreign credit swaps are foreign banks buying default insurance on domestic debt, specifically I'm looking at major corporate debt, and even more specifically boeing in particular I was studying the CDS movements for.

>>16969194
You're not replying to me, but to answer your question anyway I look at a ton of data, I mentioned 3 very important macro trends I look at already in this thread, as well as 2 different local valuation measures I look at as well. I look at all the feds data closely, growth on housing, job growth, construction, as well as looking at global monetary flows and the data coming out of foreign governments as well, eps growth, ect ect. That's off the top of my head, I have charts to fill up thread after thread though.

I wish I had positioned myself more into gold when I had the chance, but I’ve still got a healthy amount of cash.

Don’t you think any real negative data will send the market higher as investors speculate on further rate hikes?

I don’t trust valuation measures build off of shiller, looks like they have not been very helpful in the past.

No, I think the data is just too far gone at this point for the market to climb higher off the "buy the stimulus" narrative. We are already seeing bonds move back into pricing into more rate cuts today, except unlike 2018 growth is slowing pretty bad. At most I would say we have a crab year if not an outright major correction, we don't see up until the fed opens the floodgates. 1.5% reduction isn't going to cut it I think.

Anything can spark it. I personally don't think we will see up for a while, but I'm biased right now as I would like to think a market at peak valuation is driven largely by the constituents perception of future growth, growth which just became confirmed to have no foreseeable bottom in my mind. It wouldn't surprise me though if the market shrugged it off, and waited until the last second when it literally can't be ignored. If this were virus scares i doubt we would've even seen a .1% drop IMO.

Lose x%, win x% => you have less now, namely x^2
Add some leverage n
then (1-nx)(1+nx) = 1-n^2*x^2 => we lose n^2*x^2
For (no leverage <=> n=1) it's the fomula above.
You have the same problem for all n.
