Income tax DID NOT exist prior to 1914. It was considered unconstitutional, the government paid for itself with tariffs. When Woodrow Wilson instituted a 1% tax on the richest earners it was considered radical and an utter necessity for WW1.

What has followed as the years went by and income tax was jacked up more and more is a monstrosity. It places an undue burden on the working class as they are the ones that feel the most tangible hit of a 20-30% tax rate, can't afford great tax accountants, and don't have their wealth tied up in capital investments that are taxed differently.

THIS IS LITERALLY JUST A TAX ON EARNING PEOPLE. The rich feel nothing from income tax. If this tax didn't exist, you could retire 20 years earlier. Income tax literally robs you of life and freedom.

Taxes on land value are the only good taxes. They're progressive, enforceable, and don't discourage production. Land taxes would give higher revenues (which should be returned to the public) AND would encourage people to produce and build more.
