I'm 27. I've given myself until I'm 35 to achieve financial independence. If I don't make it by then, I will off myself.

not really. there was a period of time in my life when i was able to travel, live abroad, etc. all while enjoying hobbies and interests and feeling happy to wake up every morning. i was lucky things lined up that way then. but now i can't do that anymore because the way my career worked out requires that i wage slave every fucking day in the united states at a desk for people i hate. the moment i can quit this shit is the moment i resume doing what actually made me happy.

It's totally worth it to sacrifice your 20's putting everything into place to become set for life so that the remaining 6 or 7 decades of your life can be amazing. Don't forget that.

Just spend this time focusing on working on correcting old habits, Eating healthy, and working out. It will help keep you in good spirit as you pass the time between your low beginnings and early retirement.

>sacrificing your 20s
What are you all sacrificing? You can still live your 20s while investing spare funds. Why couldn't you?

The more you front load your investing, the faster you can get to a point of of self sustaining wealth growth. You could party and invest slowly and be able to retire 10 years before average at like 55-60. Or you could live like a monk for your 20's, invest 90% and be making $150,000/year on your investments by the time your 35.

Don’t fall for this meme anons. Live it up in your 20s. Making it after 30 is pointless. Enjoy your youth. Just be somewhat responsible and don’t totally fuck yourself over financially.
