OK so I'm a node operator in 2025, and the few remaining LINK tokens that aren't locked in contracts are being sold for $1000 each.
I want to be able to stake another $100,000 as collateral so I need to buy 100 LINK tokens to do so.

Explain to me why, in that position, I would NOT buy those tokens due to the "market cap", even though buying the tokens at that price would still be useful to me as it would allow me to stake more collateral and win more contracts?
Why would "market cap", an arbitrary measurement between price and total supply, affect my decision in that moment?

I agree with what you're saying anon and don't disagree.

I'd just like to point out that the 350mm in 'network incentives' are effectively inflation for early node operators. As people take profit, node income will be the only thing on the market and will be sold off at a pretty predictable rate, not unlike btc mining.
