fucking hell, man. I dont qualify for ANY jobs. They want really specific jobs. Im stuck with this low wage highschool level bullshit.

Wasted time with a 2 yr degree.

You know what I genuinely could like? Working at k-12 with anything. More notably as an assistant to an instructor or interpreting for deaf people (I dont know how, but Id like a job in that).

No one wants to give chances. You have to magically have experience.

FUCK this economy. Im 24 and STILL make 14 an hr AND in a job that makes me miserable.. what the hell, man?
The field I got it in (trades) is irrelevant since I dont plan on making a career out of it. I tried to like it. Didnt like it.

Advice as to what I should apply to? What websites? What jobs? Currently do security. Pay is shit. I just want about 20 an hr and Im good (live near LA. Yes ik 20 an hr isnt great but I could work with that).

Best job ever. Sit at a security desk in an empty office at night. No responsibility, no one ever around at night. I sit there on my phone or laptop all night shit posting and watching Netflix. Aquire skills like these on your free time. Then get a entry level job and work hard to better show your skills and position yourself as indispensible.

If you can be easily replaced - you are basically fucked and have to suck dick

20 an hour ain't gonna fix your problems

i make $22/hr (leafbux) just outside of vancouver and it's still a struggle, and I don't really have many bad habits, don't waste my money, just paying the rent, food, car insurance, utilities, etc. eats through most of my money. You basically either need to roommate to cut down on rent/utility costs if you want to actually save, and if you don't like roommating well then you pay a financial cost for your privacy.

Plus accounting for inflation, $20/hour in 2020 is like making $16 in 2010, and that wasn't a good wage even by 2010 standards. You need like $30/hour minimum if you want to "get ahead" in the curreny economy, and even then you'd have to live bare bones and develop good spending/saving habits.

On top of this: THE REAL KILLER (for any Delivery/ RideShare Job) -> Parking Tickets, Driver Demerit Points = INSURANCE.

The fact that your Driving more and being put under a lot of "Pressure to be on time" makes these jobs way more susceptible to FUCKING UP your Driver License/Insurance. This can literally cost you Thousands of dollars more a year.

>what

If you have a degree you should unironically consider joining the military. Exercise and get in shape, become a chad, get paid as an officer and avoid the shittiest jobs the zoomer enlistees have to do.

The thing you have to remember is that around 1942 all the dudes in America got shoved into the military and told to fight. Those that survived got a big fat paycheck and free college and veteran's preference (which was a bigger deal back then). All of this spiraled into them getting propelled into jobs only rich kids used to work.

Until the 1990s this was basically the entire social structure of the USA- be GI generation, Silent Generation, Boomers and the early part of Gen X and just join the military and get sent to Japan/Korea/'Nam/Iraq. That was how all these old guys got established with money and connections. In the 1990s there was a sharp shift in emphasis away from military and manufacturing jobs as good career paths for men, coupled with a massive rise in outsourcing and decreased funding for the military.

Most of the troubles the 70s-born Xers, Millennials and Zoomers face stem from the fact that having Vet Preference negates the normal handicap you get from being white or male in hiring, enabling you to compete on even ground with Shaniqua Jimenez. Boomers will be glad to hire a milfag, not because they like you but because they like to FEEL like they're being patriot for doing so.

The military is one of the few age-restricted jobs that basically says "no boomers at the entry level" meaning you won't lose your position just because 70yo boomer bill is friends with 68yo boomer bob who is the manager or whatever. Throughout the market the economy never really recovered from the Web 1.0 recession and the Housing Bubble Recession was just people waking up to that fact. Boomers will die at 79 working their entry-level job that a Millennial should have been working. Things won't get better until then.

Another thing I've noticed is that the Denver memes seem to be true. I live in a metro area with 5+ million people, much bigger than CO as a state and there are no fucking jobs here but somehow rent is through the roof anyway. Meanwhile I applied to a few jobs in Denver by mistake and they're immediately sending me emails trying to set up interviews. I checked the rents and compared and Denver actually looks like the city has places (not in the ghetto) where there is lower rent than where I live. I have no idea how this shit is possible but I think if you live in a boomer-saturated area you're probably fucked.

The problem is that the numbers are misleading. Workforce participation is going up among nativeborn Americans, but work visas have generally fallen slowly from their peak under Obama. While there have been deportations the US is officially estimated at 330 million but likely had 366 million including temp and uncounted illegals in 2017. Right now it's probably around 358 million. Total removal of all non-citizens should reduce the population to around 306 million. That's the target we need to reach before it will /genuinely/ be at a massive labor shortage and enable large-scale employment. The fear is that our economy is a shitbucket that relies on cheap labor, so removing the slaves would bankrupt us.

lets ignore this one for now
b) increase your hourly wage. This obviously might involve upskilling. Yes there are some meme jobs that pay 20/hr and expect 6 years experience and a degree but uhhhh just don't fucking choose that field?? Just try to do some research
c) increase the hours you work. If you 100% can't increase your hourly wage then obviously you're going to have to work more hours. This doesn't have to mean working another shitty gig job, it could also mean upskilling in your own time to do option (b) above.
