Do you know someone else is also building a stablecoin using chainlink, with actual collateral and scalability?

What’s the use of chainlink here? To grab asset prices? That is, the asset prices the stable coin is stable with respect to.

why/how is this good for chainlink?

There is no fucking use, a stable coin will never be completely decentralized as the collateral has to be stored somewhere. And if your collateral is some shit token like MKR or RSR they have no intrinsic value at all and could be arbitrarily set at different values. But let's say you make some kind of open source libra thing. Yeah ok you get the prices from chainlink which is kinda trustless but who stores the collateral for when you want to cash out? A central authority will.

Smart contracts need data to work. And what fetches the data is called an Oracle. Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network to maintain security.

To put in simpler terms, Chainlink is the internet of the Blockchain world. See chain.link ‘s blog for more details

Here’s an idea:
Build an oracle coin that queries exchange prices and can only be sold for greater than it was previously sold. It will be the first coin in history that deterministically cannot be dumped in price

Like a movie scene
In the sweetest dreams
I have pictured us together
Now to feel your lips
On my fingertips
I have to say is even better
Then I ever thought it could possibly be
It's perfect, it's passion, it's setting me free
From all of my sadness
The tears that I've cried
I have spent all of my life
