What you’re failing to grasp is that anybody could make money by building on eth. Chainlink is the opposite of this, it incentives companies to work hard and provide actual value, a lot less people want to do that. Like seriously, a metric ton less

Nice little theory.
Except the vast majority of ICOs from 2017 involved external data already.

Not to mention the entire EEA (picrel) which only exists because all those companies thought ETH already had external connectivity.

You want something to moon because of actual usage and value creation. Mentioning eth shitcoin moon is really a shitty argument. Also reminder that ETH is down 90%+

Reading that article Loopring actually comes across as legit as fuck. I got half way through and was thinking "OK, this is a serious project but there's no real use for the token" but then got to their DEX staking analysis and realised they have put in a lot more thought into tokenomics than the vast majority of other projects.
Holy fuck is this actually a hidden gem? Is /biz/ starting to get actual good projects again?

Loopring is great as a protocol, but monetization is impossible.
There's nothing stopping anyone from copying their contracts. They tried to prevent that by hiding proving keys but they have to release them at some point.

You don't even know how loopring works.
It's a library for dexes with a zk-snark circuit with a proving key. Everything is open source.
There are default contracts on the mainnet. Dexes are "supposed" to use them, but there are no advantages to using them other than easier deployment.
They require a lockup of loopring worth $12k and charge 0.01% fee on every trade.
