Chill out, man. You are exhibiting the lack of impulse/emotional control that Joe Schmoe suffers from when playing this game. This then leads them to getting burnt. Sit on your hands. If you miss out, there will be other opportunities. The beautiful thing about the markets is that everyday is quite literally a money making opportunity. What you should do this weekend is work on a solid investing/trading strategy that you will stick to. It's all psychology. We are playing against other players and bet that our psychology is better than theirs so that we can buy their bags and sell them back to them.

I'll tell you how it will play out: There will be a price spike and euphoria (already happening after hours). Plebs will get in at the top and end up holding bags once the top is sold off by early entries. Buy the ensuing dip. There will be another spike not too long after that will obviously not be as large as the current one. Sell out of this second spike and be happy you took profit. Set your buy/sell limits and stop losses appropriately. This is what happens. Like artwork and pottery. Every single time. Good luck.

Here you go, memewagon riders. This will be a good chance for you to listen to what, i assume, will be your first conference call for investors. Here’s some excepts from my Schwab news feed:

>Conference Call and Webcast Information:Amarin will host a conference call Monday, December 16, at 7:30 a.m. ET to discuss this information. The conference call can be heard live on the investor relations section of the company's website or via telephone , or by using the call back feature. A replay of the call will be made available for a period of two weeks following the conference call. A replay of the call will also be available through the company's website shortly after the call.

Some article makes this claim, I urge you not to get too excited:
>Heart disease affects an estimated 121 million American adults, causes about one in three deaths and costs more than $500 billion annually for treatment, according to the American Heart Association. Millions of Americans take nonprescription supplements of fish oil, also called omega-3 fatty acids, for their supposed heart benefits, but their dosages are far below Vascepa's potency.
>Vascepa sales brought Amarin just $287 million over 2019's first nine months, but analysts forecast the much-broader approval could boost annual sales to $3 billion or more.

And here’s the “multichannel news brief”

AMRN underwhelming, but meets my expectations for something shilled so hard. Disappointing they had to do a stock halt on Friday for an AH announcement. Easily would have been a 50% on a monday premarket announce.

Dumped all my Jan calls except the 30s prior to announce and went long dec 20 25-27 calls for maximum gainz. If it can make a quick trip to 30 monday morning after cinference call, I'll be a happy camper. Not life changing, but good money.

when they don't get bought out, this seems like the likely outcome. The conference call leads me to believe they don't have any offers of a buyout, but I may change my opinion after I watch on Monday morning.

I suspect, as I have said all along, that Vascepa is too far along in it's patent to warrant major attention from big pharma. They will want something newer, and rig up some tests to show how it is superior, so they can get maximum lifetime out of an exclusive drug.

Pfizer is so pathetic and desperate that it's not impossible, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Still, I might actually let myself get assigned shares, or at least keep the shares I have and sell my options.

Biotech has run pretty hard. One of the biggest sector runs this year.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the ETFs that have been lifting up the bad with the good start to exert downward pressure on the whole sector, particularly the ones who have yet to live up to their promise. If we’re lucky, this may give us buying opportunities in companies like regeneron, Amgen, biomarin.

The AMRN/Tbaby poster wasn’t being called a retard because of amarin, it’s because of shit like pic related.

>>16556235
Have you done any research into them or just hoping on the fomo trade to dump it on the greater fool? I think we may be in for a bit of a lull until we get closer to the JPM conference. Crispr isn’t one that stood out to me from the credit suisse biotech report. It looks like they were right about sarrepta, we’ll see if biomarin or uniqure pan out.

Remember that you can also play the sector through ETFs. If we’d all bought the IBB before ASH, instead of gambling on trades that mostly didn’t pan out, we’d have done pretty damn well.

That happens every time there is sector wide pump fest. Weed run carried so much garbage 3x+, some penny stocks went 10x+ if you bought them when Traitorous Trudy was first elected. Most of that trash went -99% eventually, of course. In hindsight I wish I had had a couple years experience when all of that started. Instead I started right in the thick of it, zero strategy, made huge money with no idea how rare those opportunities truly are, lost about 90% of the gains I made trading with all those bad habits. lol deep in the negative EPS, 500x p/e, market buy!

Yes. It took the better part of two years, gains and losses big and small. I'm a much better trader now with a list of specific rules i have made for myself for how to approach high volatility stocks, how to trade the s&p with leverage, how to trade a couple commodities and the fundamental concerns to keep in mind affecting how those commodities move. All losses combined, it still cost me less to become a consistent trader than my bachelors degree did.

On the other hand the sava drug is practically phase3 ready for only 30mil market cap. If you check the data and the papers you'll see this as well. Also funded by nih, and owned mostly by insiders.
Galt has a wonderdrug for literally all yet incurable diseases, ready for trials. In some cases it makes or breaks cancer immunotherapies. For thyroid cancer it's a checkpoint inhibitor in itself. They don't have much cash though. I think they will sell it for very high premium soon.

The phrase 'winning it back' is a classic gambler's style of rationalizing losses in a sunken cost sort of way. I think it's counter productive. More helpful to approach losses like; i have lost, this is how much i have left, what do? And better yet, what can i do differently in future to minimize or eliminate the risk of taking a loss like that again? Constructive approach to future, fix what's broke, etc.

@ the person asking about the tkks dips

Its a general business company that capitalizes off of market evaluation, share exchanges. It is blank check and they are based uin Hong Kong, there is no real news following the dips, but it's safe to assume they are due to the riots. Both times I bought into these dips due to the lack of news that followed them, and both dips I made hundreds. It's kindof a gamble but its really unlikely that the dip will stay, it generally dips friday and fluctuates until monday when it shoots back up to original price. Pretty much MM's, tariffs and riots, but there is no specific smoking gun per se.

I have seen a plethora of predictions on here that ended up being correct. Tons of correct trade options predictions: LULU puts, NLTX, GME etc. Also plenty of profitable stocks that arent pharma or penny, TKKS and HEBT (If you listened to me) AMD, GME. It kindof drives me insane how negative people are on here when the extent of their market research is 4chan and a few trading books and they have never stepped foot inside a college level math or market evaluation class, they have absolutely no stocks or important predictions to contribute so instead they make fun of other peoples trades and call them retarded, when they probably have about 100 dollars tops in overall profit, so the entire thread gets flooded with meme stocks, shills, trolls, and general dickheads who's only contribution is claiming other people don't contribute and spamming shitty memes that are usually really unintelligent. If you actually read the thread and research some of the calls people make you'd realize there are actually some really intelligent individuals on here who catch some really niche trends and are kind enough to share.

For me AMRN is not just another stock. Some people just go "hey if I make money great, if I don't oh well" Which is fine and to be honest that's the right way to go about it. But for me, losing money on the deal was never an option cause I need all the money I can get. Long story short; I'm 36, didn't save as much as I should've during my 20's/early 30s. So now my retirement plan is kinda lacking. AMRN is a way to correct that mistake and give my retirement plan a big kick in the ass. Sure I've got a pension and a 401 and now a brokerage, etc. Both the pension and 401 are doing rather well, but still. It don't mater how good the investments are doing if your still behind as it were. All the retirement people tell you this; "by age 40 your on track for a nice retirement if you have double your salary in the bank (or invested)" Thanks to AMRN I'll hit that mark about 4 years sooner.

You don't understand. None of you understand.

Here is the hidden truth that has only been revealed to a few initiates: Xi, not Trump, is the true golden bull that will lead globalist capitalism to its thrilling climax. Trump is just a confused old man, a chess piece in the international bull games. XI will be the one to make sure that SPY 500 happens. The indeterminacies of US politics don't matter before his spending power and industrial might.
Don't think I'm trying to construe some China vs US crap. It has nothing to do with that. Xi is unrestrictedly bullish: he wants the indices to pump as much as possible. All of them. But many times he hides behind a crab facade.

Beginnerfag here, anyone recommend any books, or are they all memes to make me easy to predict and manipulate? I have read some basic money management, checked the links as well. I read the fundamentals of technical analysis which was pretty decent and Learn to Earn.

Anyone have any feels about seasonality or cyclical trading?

Also pivoting from tech/finance to shiny rocks seems to work during downturns. Any recs on books regarding specific market entrance/exit?

It seems to me that a lot of Technical analysis is just meme magic and Fibonacci autism for some reason works sometimes. Any of you bros incorporate that into your strategies? (not looking for specifics, just whether its worth investing energy into)

Right now I'm just dicking around with a couple thousand $ trying to get experience with some real psychological consequences before I put any real money into play.

Unfortunately I am a supreme professional white collar wagie so some weeks I am exclusively after hours trading, but that may benefit me in the future because I work in a research heavy market and may be able to see big happenings before they affect the markets.

Wat read bros?

Snss has a lot of bagholder now and going up is not easy.

Not to shit in your potatoes but wide adoption will only happen if the American College of Cardiology puts it in their preventative guidelines. Even then people may just be told to buy the OTC supplement.

This is basically the same story as Ramelteon (Rozerem). A prescription drug that is the same as an OTC supplement. Docs just tell people to buy the OTC supplement because its cheaper.

You are way off-base. Generic melatonin vs. ramelteon is not in any way comparable to vascepa vs. a generic fish oil supplement. There will be no generics until their patent protection expires in a decade. The upside to AMRN is much more limited than many wishful thinkers seem to be promoting, but it isn't nearly as vulnerable as you suggest.

The risk here is that to the generic doctor it may be that vascepa=generic fish oil
You can't explain it easily using only 1 sentence

>to the generic doctor
There is no risk of that for any doctor with two brain cells to rub together. It is a simple quesiton of whether or not evidence of comparable benefit exists. Until that happens it would be medical malpractice to recommend generic fish oil in lieu of a product such as vascepa. There is a reason a drug company spends the time and money to get FDA approval.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Lying to a patient by telling them that they can obtain the same benefits as a prescription drug from an OTC drug/supplement that has not ever been shown to have said effects is absolutely malpractice.

Lol. An Industry sponsored study and FDA approval does not automatically mean there will be wide adoption into medical practice. The perceived utility of a drug will be taken into account as well as the clinical outcome variables. 99.9% of patients get a statin and their lipid profile will normalize. Statins also are the only one the medical community really gives a shit about because its the only one that has been shown in studies to reduce mortality and primary outcome measures.

If you take a look at another cardiac drug like Entresto released July 2015 you'll find the parent company NVS took a 4 year drop and just recently recovered. That drug still isn't widely adopted.

The market for this drug is smaller than you think.

I hope you continue to make money off of these trades but be weary of being overly optimistic about the medical field and the long term success of this company.

My only fear ismost doctor's are Affirmative Action students and hires, so they aren't nearly as intelligent as they used to be. They are bitches for pharma though, so I'm with you that they wouldn't ever tell a patient to take regular fish oil in lieu of getting a prescription kick back

Before I would have said 1.7 but the recent buyout of ARQL has changed it to 3. ARQL's primary value is in their BTK inhibitor, and they were bought for 20 bucks a share. So at least 3 is my guess.

No, I think it will treat cancer patients with mutations that render ibrutinib ineffective. There is no cure for cancer coming any time soon. The closest is probably the team using Bacteriophages to target cancer.

Nice strawman. We aren't discussing widespread adoption, but rather your assertion that doctors will be prescribing generic fish oil supplements in place of Vascepa.

>in lieu of getting a prescription kick back
Big pharma has every effective marketing and incentives, but the real issue here is that generic fish oil supplements have not been shown to have the same effect and therefore are objectively not a substitute. Kick-backs or no, no doctor is going to tell their patients that any old fish oil supplement can be substituted for Vascepa or related products until such a time as evidence were to show this to be the case.

With all the good news it's important not to let the lure of the Fat Green Bag to get outta hand. Sure you'll get a Fat Bag but over doing it is just setting yourself up for despair and gloom if it doesn't come to pass. I look at it like this: If I get 45 - 50 per then hey its all good for me. If I get over 50 per then that's just extra gravy. I'm not talking about just the buyout price either but also the stock price itself. Low balling your expectations will save yourself a lot of mental pain later. Then if you exceed those expectations you can celebrate like mad.
