Synthetix is doing LINK feeds for metals and currencies first. Cryptos will come later (not a huge demand for synthetic crypto ATM, but as synthetix volume picks up should be better).

It's good for link because it dispels the 'eth price checker memefud', but having one noncustodial cryptoderivatices exchange with infinite liquidiy onboard is arguably not that big of deal for chainlink, considering we've known the full scope of what LINK can do for a while. But people still expecting institutional use in 2020 are fucking mega deluded.

So, I've got literally no stake in ANY crypto at the moment, I have a decent job and something like 4 grand I can play around with.

That's what I'm attempting to do. The dyor, that is, but what should I legitimately be looking for and looking into? I understand the highlevel concepts of LINK and it makes sense to me that it would become incredibly useful to crypto and blockchain at large given the right series of utilizations/partnerships. The partnerships appear to be there, but I just sadly know literally nothing about investment and/or finance. I have a decent grasp on 101-201 macro-micro ECON but aside from that, all I have it a gut feeling, but nothing really substantive to demonstrably tell me if any specific coin will go up.

If I might be so bold as to ask, what should an aspirant of crypto look into, and/or trust in the way of a real primer? I naturally feel high levels of distrust given how much the community seems to have snake-oil salesmen and scams around. Which I will readily accept comes with the territory, where it's just trolling anywhere else, here it's trolling with slight chances of monetary incentive- and/or the chance of trolling someone in an upside-down suicide stack situation.
