Focused but definitely not euphoric like adderall or vyvanse. I recommend it if you are usually pretty chill cus otherwise it will turn you into a robotic asshole if you take it everyday. Tolerance builds with anything and I’ve never tried cycling so idk how well that worse. And sleep issues are almost non existent if you take it with a shake or something early in the morning. Working out is critical.

Adderall is fine as long as you're on it. When you get off all your problems will be 10x worse and not just in the short-term. I can't wait until the long-term side effect profile of that drug emerges into public awareness and it gets completely cancelled.
The best solution to ADHD is finding a line of work or lifestyle that accommodates free action, like writing or investing.

I take dexamfetamines, pic related 3-4 times a week depending on when I feel like it. I use it only for work performance and not for recreational use. I am on a low dose which is 10mg twice per day and have been taking it for about 2 years now.

>effects?
The first few times you take it you will definitely feel this euphoric high. This is the high that people try and chase by increasing the dosage which then creates addicts. After the first 2-3 times you take your normal dosage this feeling goes away and what you are left with is a feeling of "wanting to do something" and whatever you decide to do you will usually get quite focused on doing it and you will feel like there is no excuse not to do it. You will also feel like talking and having a conversation for the first few hours of taking your dosage and will need to train yourself to not ramble on and talk too much.
I work as a construction estimator so the effects are perfect for me. Half my job is talking to people trying to get them to price things for me and to get a better price. The other half is staring at drawings making sure I pick up every single detail of the job then adding up numbers.
>sides?
After it wears off you will crash and crash hard. You will also need a few extra hours sleep to feel fully recharged. If you take it often then decide to take a break, say 5 days a week and the weekends off, you will feel very irritable on the weekends and very easily angered. I only take it 3-4 days a week and I never feel this anymore, only if I take it for 5 days + per week for a few months.
>recommend?
Highly recommended if you learn how to manage the positive and negative effects for your benefit.
>tolerance?
Not once have I wanted to increase my dosage. There has been no tolerance build up even after 2 years of taking a very low dosage. Anyone who feels the need to increase the dosage is chasing the euphoric high that it can give you and is not actually using it for it's purpose.
>sleep issues?
Yes. You will have trouble turning off your brain at night. This is the only real negative I have found that can impact my life if I am not careful. If I take a dose too late in the day then I won't sleep till 2-3am.

Can agree. Was on a heavy therapeutic dose for years (single mother wanted to make her kid quiet, I don’t blame her). Would do 5 days a week and than go off on the weekends. I would sleep til noon and eat so much on Saturday I got literal acid reflux as a 10 year old kid. Went cold turkey off of it sophomore year HS after my midterms and went through a 1.5 year period of insane emotional instability and mood swings, than another 1.5 of aimlessness and overeating. Almost 21 now and I feel the best I literally ever have, but I know I’ve done irreparable damage in terms of my elevated paranoia and binge eating habits. Again, I don’t blame my mom as it’s all she knew but it still bothers me.

Diagnosed here. Disclaimer, every brain is different. Started taking ritalin in my late 20's after talking to my doc. Went from smoking weed, taking amphetamines and shit (basically self medication) and playing games all day. To having my own business, buying a house, renovating everything and having a wife and kids.
Don't use it recreationally, just go with the ritalin, find the right dosage for you and get your life back on track.
Use your new gained focus on the things that matter. ADHD in our current world is a disability, ADHD with the right medication is a goddamn superpower.

Once you have a regular schedule, know to work to-do lists, work out three-four times a day, limit your computer and video game time, work some job or work and be social a few times a week, clean up your diet and cut out all sugar and such, you could try it.

>You will have trouble turning off your brain at night
I only had this without the meds (and with excessive caffeine use, energy drinks and shit). Got so bad I'd break out in sweats and scream, full of fear of death and the fact that the universe is somehow infinite yet our consciousness isn't.

Truth is; I think I only need it because my retarded single mom put me on it when I was a child and it likely fucked up my brain development (together with lack of exercise, excessive TV and video game time, lack of father figure and such). And I'd go so far as to say that this is the case for most people on here. I feel like we're a generation of boys trying to catch up for a childhood filled with neglect, making up for our retarded parents' mistakes.

Then you never had ADHD. If you do have it, your executive functioning is fucked to a degree where you can't decide what is important to do when.
It's having to force yourself to do something even though you both want and have to do it, NOT having problems concentrating on something you don't really care about.

This is bullshit unless your issue comes from never developing your ability to delay gratification.

If you actually have ADHD, and most people do not, you will also be unable to focus on things you actually want to be focusing on. For example, you're fucking your woman and there is a clock in another room. It is ticking. You cannot concentrate long enough to actually get off and could be fucking for hours. Or something like an air conditioner stops you cold on an exam you could ace in an isolation booth.

Weights don't solve it for those people. Weights help the undisciplined mongs train something denied to them by shitty parenting and too much screen time. That small minority with the disorder has a very different psychological response to stimulants and can modulate a minimum dose to sidestep their extremely limited concentration resources. Often, with medication, they will also be in a position to develop coping strategies that will help them when off the medication but which would be impossible to train without the meds.
