It's because more people have access to the Internet and (I don't like using it but, unfortunately, it's true) "Normies" are more widespread in today's society.

Internet culture has spilled into IRL politics, discussion and way of life.
In a hundred years they'll be looking back and saying "Wow, they were so new to all of this, they acted so ridiculous with it"

"This" and "it" desu information era/digital age. Everything is insanely rapid and fantasy land compared to hundred years ago and since 2003-6-8

People like you ruin the board. On any given thread at least 30% of posters are plebbit spacing. That doesn't even account for the plebbitors that don't space like that. 4chan is dead and you killed it.

It was already cancer before gamergate. The orange man boomers were more like the maggots infesting the already dead carcass. At this point you'll have to go to more obscure boards just to get a little meat but it will all be bones soon enough. /biz/ is a perfect example of that.

the plebb spacing condemnation is annoying. If anything, line breaks make reading on phones even easier. Sure the neets with their giant monitors can just zoom the window, but I have never minded it, also because I’m a writer and used to seeing spaces between paragraphs. Depends on the complexity of what is being said, a convoluted blogpost benefits from plebbit spacing, where as the:
“Hey fellow anons which coin should I buy, going to toss in 2k

TenX, Somn, Vib, Ost

Also looking to buy some goos long term holds”
Now that is when spacing pisses me off.

This board is the final frontier imo. Think about it, its filled with oldfags that got curious and came back from the early days when /b/ = 4chan. Once/if this board goes the ways of all others i'll take my bow, but as it is it's getting harder to come here with older age + quality loss im sure you feel the same

Yeah. I took a break between 2014-2016 desu. I share a lot of the same feelings you do but I can't come to terms with how it came to be this way. Yes, there was an influx of r*ddit fags but there were similar problems back in the day, ie ebaumsworld and SA.

Personally, I have hope for these kids. We were retarded back in the day but we ended up carving a pretty unique place in the history of the world, or at least the Internet.

That being said, I think that /biz/ is the only OG board left. Unlike the waifu circlejerk on /a/ or the console war kids larping as oldfags on /v/, this is the only board where there are actual consequences to your post. If you shill xyz coin, poor Ranjesh can't eat curry for a week. Much like the glory days of /b/, I think we're at the razors edge again.

t b h as a 33 years old boomer who got on the internet in the mid-90s, this is how i felt about 4chan/somethingawful culture. it all seemed like a bunch of newbies who didn't get the internet and stuck to their mainstream communities, flash games, runescape, habbo hotel, wow
people who came in before eternal september probably see my type as retards too
every new wave will always look ridiculous. it's embarrassing to watch people my age purposefully make all lowercase tweets without punctuation to act cool, acting like teens used to in the late 90s

I like that feel and the feel that overall and I'm also happy the catalogue speed tends to be volatile enough to discourage generals. /biz/ is unironically the only board I'm glad doesn't really follow the no duplicate thread rules, since it keeps our catalogue free from that plague (exception being /smg/ but that is a different community at this point).
