Meditation just boosts your ability to think rationally. When you're tired as shit your prefrontal cortex (the part of the brain responsible for long-term planning) becomes weaker and is unable to control the limbic system. What meditation does is make the prefrontal cortex stronger. There's no "correct" way to meditate.
Just do whatever works for you in creating focus.

They have proven it changes your brain lobe sizes or some shit like that. They have MRIs that prove it, but forget about all that. Try it for 2 weeks or at least 10 days for 5 minutes a day and you will notice a positive difference. Everyone is different you'll notice what it changed for you.

I meditate every now and then. It makes my hemorrhoids go away and stress, which could be related to the hemorrhoids. Whenever my butthole is sore and bleeding I start meditating everyday 5-10min a day for about 2 weeks and boom hemorrhoids gone. If I stop meditating it takes about 6-8 months for them to come back.

Its more about the repetition. You'll make more progress if you mediate at around the same time everyday for 5 min a day then if you did 20min one day nothing the next then 10min for 2 days in row etc. I usually meditate shortly after I wake up but before I drink coffee, right before bed or after dinner is a good time too, or on your lunch break. If you stick to it, after 2-3 weeks of 5min everyday you will feel the need to increase your time.
Its even ok to meditate for 2min a day for 2 weeks. It doesnt matter how long you start its making it a habit and doing it everyday that makes a difference

It has undeniable benefits. You will have to work up to it, but the gist is you just close your eyes and don't think. At first you will have a constant barrage of thoughts interrupting you and it will be very difficult to silence them, but as you continue meditating the goal is to become better at quieting those unwanted thoughts. Eventually as you practice more and more you will notice you have more focus, feel more in control, and just generally feel better all around.

Our daily lives are so god damn stimulating that it literally takes 30 minutes of work everyday to return to healthy functioning human state.
