kinda depends since I haven't quite figured out the most optimal way to go about it, but ill start by writing atm. If it shoots up, then i don't let it exercise, but i'll just keep rolling it at the same strike or some kind of diagonal spread depending on how much it rose (no set criteria, im just trying to get a certain minimum amount of money every week). at that point, the stock doesn't usually ever meet my strikes again and i basically make an easy 0.5-1% every week with relatively no risk.
