I want to learn skills so that I can make more than minimum wage in a white collar position. Is it possible or do you need a degree/internships? I just want my own studio apartment.

Anything is possible, but I'd recommend getting an associate's from a community college if you're a burger. Take exclusively online classes if you want. Then you'll at least have something to signal to employers that you're worth training.

Degrees aren't all about the knowledge gained, it's largely about signaling productivity to employers so they're willing to invest in training you.

Alternatively, maybe get lucky after sending enough job apps for entry level stuff. Or work retail or some shitty job for a bit and spin it as something that makes you qualified to work better jobs that you apply for.

Start off at an entry-level position at a decently-sized company. Present yourself well. Look clean, speak clearly and show up every day on time. If you seem ambitious, you'll move up.

From my own experience - trades.
I'm sparky.
You could just attempt to make art - like sculptures, melting brass and making various shapes people asks for.
I myself pound copper sheets with a hammer on my free time to make various things, mainly lighting stuff.
