I have tons of free time and I just spend it fapping and playing vidya, which isn't that much different than what I'd be doing if I was poor. I have a gf too, so that won't even solve any problems. Life just isn't that interesting in general.

The average American makes $31k/year and has $500 in savings, so you're in very good shape.

This. Really bums me out desu. Everytime I think about starting something new, I'm always reminded of this fact.

I'm a salesperson, I work for a tech company selling a data platform. I went to school for mathematics and then worked tech sales jobs for two years(got hired at one place while i was still a senior) before getting this senior level role.

>> No.16217953

>>16217867
Damn, I'm shit at maths. I'm pretty good with people though.

>> No.16218049

>>16217953
Oh being good at the maths isn't neccesary at all, there's tons of people in "tech" sales who know nothing about the technology and do very well.

My recommendation would be to get into a SaaS company as a BDR(business dev rep) if you have no prior experience before. You pay your dues cold calling new prospects and then after two years you get an AE job making 6 figures and uncapped commission.

Do I need to live in CA? Currently live in PA, closest major city is Filthadelphia

>> No.16218491

>>16218392
Naw, although salaries are going to get a lot higher in San Francisco and New York. Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Denver, and Austin are also really good cities for tech sales.

In NY you see a lot of financial leaning tech companies, in Boston a lot of healthcare leaning ones, I don't know enough about Philly to say what it's niche is but it's a very large city so I guarantee there are going to be tons of software sales jobs available.

Do you people really think you can quantitate the value of your life by imaginary numbers?

You’re living like cave men counting rocks and pelts to justify your life. Why don’t you try being grateful to be alive. Grateful to be healthy. Realize your impact on the world and the way you feel has nothing to do with what’s in your bank account or where you work. Its about who you are and what you stand for.

Yeah absolutely

You're going to want to do some research on the "tools of the trade" mainly you use a CRM(customer relationship management software) and then some kind of outreach tool, coupled with something for lead generation.

CRM: Salesforce, Hubspot, Zoho
Outreach: Outreach.io, Salesloft, Yesware
Lead Generation: LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Zoom Info

Best site for jobs are LinkedIn, Angel.co, and BuiltIn_(I think its only for Denver, Austin, New York, Seattle, and Boston but still useful)

Job titles to target are Sales Development Representative, and Business Development Representative. Account Executive is the role that these roles typically transition into. Solutions Engineer and Sales Engineers are the more technical version of Account Executives.

Left my e-mail if you have anymore questions or need anymore help, good luck!
