Golf is hard and takes time to master. A majority of Millennials avoid things that are hard. Simple.

I walked onto a country club while drunk and some retard employee left the golf cart keys out and I ended up stealing like 4 golf carts, drove one off a cliff and bailed out, drove another into a giant puddle and wrecked the motor, drove another one into a tree

fuck boomers lmao

The quality of most country clubs courses are mediocre at best, not nearly worth buy-in etc. Most muni courses are pretty much comparable to country clubs. Also this isn't 1950 most rich people are new rich and don't give a shit about golf.

there are some pretty established and consistently popular private social clubs where i live. i think of their attendees like i think of dogs smelling one another's assholes at the dogpark.

Too fucking expensive. I was looking at this one golf club that's $200/mo. thinking it was steep, upon further research I realized the average is like $500+, $1k+ if we're talking about a family membership. The fuck is that

Probably going to hang out at one unironically once link breaks doubles. Seems like a cool place to just day drink and find a better father figure that isn't a soi when it comes to finances.

Smoke some fat stoges and destroy dumb boomers in poker, then fuck their daughters at night. At a tiny fraction of the club fees because no one under 40 joins one.

I go to my local country club's public open hours with a 1W, 5 iron and putter and try to run the course as fast as I can with no cart. Can get through it in an hour and a half most days and I end up with a better score than most of the boomers I talk to.

Country clubs are like 3% golf. There is still a load of things to enjoy, I spend all of my time at the bar or in the theater, or playing chess or cards with friends.
One thing that changed in the last ten years is that there are fewer events that members can participate in. The club started renting space to weddings and shit, which no member can join lol. Obviously this would cause some people to drop membership since half the reason I PAY is so I dont have to look at poor people.

By the by... Fuck golf-centric clubs. Second dumbest sport in the world.

yeah, if the course ain't crowded with drunken senile boomers ahead, might go quicker. But for millennial 'leisure activities' taste, whole setup is still too stodgy, time-consuming and (boomer) male orientated. All of which is not necessarily my opinion either, but, the numbers would suggest it is definitely theirs

You could just cruise through with a cheap or free uni degree and wander into a high-paying job with no real qualification.

Also, energy was a lot cheaper then. I don't take everything this guy says as gospel, but he makes some good points. Cheaper energy makes everything easier to do.

Don't be so confident. I sense some Zeihan in your post. Remember, he highlighted the US as the only country with the legislative, geographical and technical ability to frack meaningfully. Once a Dem gets in the White House and implements eco-communism, you'll be just as taxed as the rest of us.

Energy in the West isn't expensive because it's hard to dig up, it's down to regulation and government sabotage. No country is immune forever.
