the scam is high schools getting kickbacks (higher ratings for their schools based off the students who go to uni) and convincing the kids that out of state private schools are acceptable to go to for poorfags

then on the finance side the scam is allowing an 18 year old to get unsecured debt without a credit score, or a cosigner. A parent should absolutely have to cosign on the student loans and only student loans they are qualified for.

get fucked nigger

There's some point to this. Some places such as Walmart and Fast food pay $15 per. Hell my local papajohns is paying $15 just to deliver pizza around the city.

So it's like hmm, go to college, end up deep in debt, wind up working for some shit bag company and put up with stress, bullshit, the constant fear you'll get "fired" just cause they can do it and make maybe 15 per starting out.

Or just fucking work for MCD's (or walmart) after high school and make 15 per and laugh at the fuckers who come in all stressed out and deep in the debt while your just doing your thing without the debt sack around your neck and the bullshit that comes with main stream corporate America.

Or you know join the military or get a state job. Let the Govt take care of you. Hell you can live on base and save a fuckton of money.

>> No.15471229

Selection bias. You'll hear more bitching because people don't want to read "I chose a non-retarded major and made $65k starting, clearing my $30k student loan debt in two years".

My job lists a college degree among it's requirements. I don't got one. I just kinda got dumped into the job. But I got the title that comes with the job though so from now on it counts as experience. I make shit. And I'm doing a job that requires a college degree. I make under 27k a year. Which is under 15 per if my math is right. I truly am burned out. The only thing that keeps me going is this; just 14 more years till I hit my "company" retirement mark. I'll be 50 and out. State col is low so that helps.

This really. If your parents will just pay for everything then by all means go to college because you're getting something for the price of free. For everyone else it's an investment and like any other investment you need to make sure that you can actually afford it BEFORE going in. What's really scammy is that schools have been taking advantage of the high demand ( I.e. so many jobs require degrees that they can charge whatever and people will pay it) as well as the fact that the public ones are funded by the government to buy lambos with tax payer dollars after skyrocketing tuition.

Poor people are better off seeking an apprenticeship and becoming a plumber or electrician.

CORRELATION ≠ CAUSATION
Every time you see a graph like this or hear a convincing statistic, you should immediately look for another reason for this relationship.

For example, who is more likely to succeed in a job, someone who sets high goals and follows through with them, or someone who was unwilling or unable to complete highschool/college/gradschool?

Who is more likely to apply to "reach" jobs, someone who views themselves worthy of graduate school, or someone who is satisfied with a bachelor's degree?

I wouldn't say rome is burning, exactly. There are major problems that can't be ignored. But the world is in for some very dark times if China, Russia, or India become the models for how things are done. As for Europe, they haven't done a single innovative think in decades, or possibly centuries, unless you could establishing the EU or starting those world wars that dragged humanity through hell.

Dark times ahead for everyone who isn't in a position of power already? Yeah but that's pretty much always been the case.
