I make $78k per year living in Arizona entailing all the above, but I do not have any credit card debt or student loan debt - only a mortgage and car loan. My car will be paid off in a few months and will sell it for what I can and lease a car moving forward. Will never buy a new car again - on 2 year leases per car at a time. All in all, my livable wage is $78k.

Not necessarily a specific salary but a cost of living when reflected equates to a housing cost of 25% to 35% MAX.

Yes? I live in the MD/VA/DC/WV/PA four-state area and plenty of people around here make 1 to 2 hour long commutes or drive 100 miles per day to work. If you're making 100k to 200k that drive is well worth it. My dad has been doing it since he retired from the military almost 20 years ago.


Hell for my final semester of college I made a 90 commute 5 days a week. It really doesn't seem that long once you do it everyday.
