College is more about socialization and networking than it is about learning. Sorry you got justed but the community college meme.

Fucking feels bad man. Moved to a new city to attend this university (At least I'm attending it for free). Don't know anyone and I feel like such an outsider. Even when I try to talk converse with neighbors I feel like they're not interested. It doesn't help that I'm not into video games, sports, or TV/movies...Pretty much rules out most conversation topics. When I was at my cc, I was able to make acquaintances really easily, even if most of them were older students and/or single moms/married mommies.

Huge mistake. You need to be surrounded by the best to become the best. Community college is a bunch of imbeciles, I would never be caught dead interacting w those people, way below me. That’s how you get ahead tho have to have that mentality

Met my best friend and now business partner 10+ years ago in community college... Yall playin yourselves

>> No.15425534

depends on profession
if you're doing med, engineering, law, first 2 years is strategic in cc is very strategic in terms of buffering grades and saving money

if you're doing something finance related, you should go straight to a reputable college to network

When I started college I already had 2 people from my middle school class and on the first day of college some girl from my group randomly introduced herself and hung out with us. I dropped out in the end though.

People read ya know. Dont need media to relate to things. Pick a topic and start reading from library.

Want to learn health? Get a sports nutrition book and talk to gym thots. Easy connection

FORD.

Family
Occupation
Recreation
Dreams

Topics that'll make people go on and on and on. To build rapport and make geniune friends. Find this four things out, listen, and REMEMBER.

You can be the most boring person in the world, but be a great listener and everyone will love you. Do not be a bitch though. Acting weak and saying weak things = disliked by everyone.

Oh and always remember, if you come across someone you don't like, its because they are unironically the same as you. We tend to hate people who have the qualities we most hate in ourselves.

ah I miss these days. the first few months as a freshman are something special.

>being out on your own for the first time
>meeting a lot of new people from many other cities, states, and even countries
>all girls are super horny
>parties are fun
>getting a job on campus and meeting even more people from other colleges at the university

only downside was having to actually go to some classes because a few professors used attendance as a % of your grade. mostly great memories though

I picked Biochemistry. A lot of people say it's a bad choice, but at least I'm always going to employable because I learned important lab skills.Only reason I was able to get my undergrad research position was because I know what I'm doing and was able to communicate my knowledge in the professors specific area of research using my past research projects at my cc as a reference point.

>>15425678
>tfw chads and stacies in frats/sororities always talking about parties while you're some miserable incel tucked away in a lab with no social interaction.

I reached out to a fencing club to see if I could join because it sounds like a fun/active thing to do.

Source? Is this true? I hate 90% of people i meet so this is interesting to me.
I think about it and it doesn't make sense though, for example loud people really annoy me and I am very quiet.

It gets easier the further you get into your program. You'll recognize familiar faces from your other classes and realize you wouldn't have wanted to be more than acquaintances in passing anyways.

This was me. I was a loner my whole 2 years of University after transferring from CC. This was more than ten years ago and I think that was the turning point of my life for the worse. Part of it though was because i commuted from home so never really made any friends. I was always in a rush to get home after class and repeat day after day. I would encourage you anons to live close to the university at least. I really really regret my entire college experience...socially speaking. Good luck anons. Don't be like me, try get yourself out there and do shit.
