A silver eagle is only worth 1 USD for the US government, so paying public and private debt with an eagle while silver is above 1 usd/oz is not very smart, you have to find somebody else to buy you that coin and then pay for debts or goods. Not so in Mex, you go to the bank, give them your silver or gold libertad and tell them to transfer the pesos to wherever/whoever you want.
