Reminder that professional gambling is the best investment you could ever make and you're a turbo cuck if you think otherwise.

What have you playing bros?

Blackjack has a small skill component.
Poker has a large skill component.
Everything else is literally rigged and you will not come out ahead if you play long-term.

too bad online poker is dead. How are you guys dealing with the fact that you narrowly missed out on the easiest money you could ever make?

You mean poker? Because that's the only form of "professional gambling" that is ever actually profitable.

Just lost $40 worth of Bitcoin on Blackjack
I wanted to try it, never again though
I'm an idiot for gambling money when I can't afford it:(

More bots, better players, more third-worlders, lower rakeback. It's barely even profitable anymore. One of the best players in the world did a $100 -> $10,000 challenge last month and after 2 weeks of full time grinding ended up with $137, and this mostly from mtts, having lost in 2nl cash games

real optimal is card counting, which is +ev depending on the amount of decks, where the cut is, and all that. Good luck not getting booted off blackjack after you have a few good nights though.

So Ive been thinking of going to a casino and trying at poker tables. What books do you guys recomend? Also Ive tried a poker app recently, I do pretty good but I think it might not go the same in way in real life poker beacause Id be betting with real money and the other players might be more experienced. Do any experienced poker players have any input?

play on a one deck table, most casinos have them though the vast majority also have shit table rules to tilt the odds back (some combination of 6:5 blackjack, dealer hits on soft 17, dd on 9/10/11 only, no dd after split, etc) but there are a few casinos out there with one deck tables and good rules. Unfortunately they're usually $50 or %100 minimum though.

>> No.1535444

Is this a joke? I like gambling as much as the next guy but you are an utter fool if you believe it's an investment. Counting cards in blackjack is the only way to get you a profitable long term gain and that's only if you don't get caught. On every other game you will lose long term. Gambling is for entertainment, not making money.

Video poker can be positive expected value, just requires an almost autistic dedication to sorting out player's club promotions, learn many of the higher payback games strategies so you can play them quickly and at 100% accuracy, and have a large enough bankroll to endure swings in variance whilst not having to grind 14 hours a day on quarters making an expected 7 bucks an hour. Read Bob Dancer's column if this actually interests you, he has all of the above and makes a living at it. There are probably less than a 100 that people in Vegas that can keep that lifestyle up long term though, but it's decent information just for the tourist that wants to maximize their gambling buck.

El Cortez has single deck with the best rules at 5 buck minimum but they will back you the fuck off in an instant if you spread your bets big or show any skill at advantage play.

Casinos are rated in the business world by how much money they haul in per square foot actually.

>> No.1535454

do they count that separate from the hotel/bar/restaurant/theater side of things?

because it seems like a lot of that is run as a loss leader for the casino.

I only was able to afford the computer I'm typing this on thanks to online poker. I could have made so much money if new legislation in my country hadn't fucked online poker a few months after I turned 18, I made over a thousand euros from an original investment of 50 euros in those few months.

You could be up 2k building a shitty wordpress site to generate leads for a plumber.
I recently did exactly that and sold it to some yogi housewife for $800. About her veterinarian acupuncture biz.
