People are fucking stupid. I heard some variation of “blood from a stone” on a daily basis.

Parents don’t understand that they are responsible for the PLUS loans, I told one woman that she had to pay on it; she then called her son on another phone and bitched him out practically screaming about how he was going to pay for it.

Had one guy threaten to kill himself, I just stayed on the phone while someone else called his local police department until they arrived.

We got commissions based off payments we could get over the phone, I suppose the best was some old fuck who just cussed me out for 20 minutes straight who ultimately ended up paying a large amount, not realizing I was going to get about 10% of the total payment.

Also the stupid people who think anyone who I worked with was some financial guru who could actually help them figure out their whole situation; the company had probably employed half the city at some point or another.

It was super boring job but I did get satisfaction from 75% of people calling me an asshole but still being top 3 earnings every month I worked there
