Divide the living expenses 50/50. Or according to income proportions.
Eat out less. Cooking is a real money saving discipline. Eventually you’ll be grossed by restaurant food after honing your own tastes.
Example: chuck steaks are similar to ribeyes but 1/3 the cost. Pork shoulder, dry rubbed, slammed into the slow cooker makes good, cheap and massive amounts of pulled pork sandwiches.
A slow cooker and a Lodge cast iron skillet => 12” is your friend and best investment. Best steaks and burgers I make are via cast iron on stovetop that is transferred to a 385* oven for a few minutes.

Additionally, decide how much you want to save first. Save that amount first then whatever is leftover pays the groceries, eateries, etc.
