I'm pretty entrenched in the java ecosystem though I've messed around with C#. Honestly they're fairly similar languages when you stop considering the syntax. Language really doesn't matter honestly just find what has the tools you want to work with and go in that direction. I know a lot of traders who learned python just so they could crunch numbers and use meme ML libraries. If you're looking for career paths based on language then learn what the companies you're interested in use and study up some. My boss is forcing me to go through java certs so we look better if we get bought. I haven't really thought about my career but it's probably a good thing to get certs in C# if you want to try to work up a more structured path. I want to stick with small companies.

can you guys tell me why it's so fucking hard to commit to a buy order? i feel like i'm pretty good at reading dips( yeah yeah, i know- you feel that way till you aren't) and with the stock market, at least in it's current state, a dip of 5% or more is literally just free money. and I'm pretty sure 60-80% of the time if you just buy the morning dip at 9:30 and sell around 11-11:30 before noon, you'll scrape 1-2%. You won't like this but, crypto really hardened my senses and taught me how to read patterns and at the very least, experience first hand outlying dips. but not about that anymore, trying to focus on something real and for the past couple of years, i see the dip-sense the impulse to buy-do nothing. but now it's evolving to, see the dip-sense the impulse to buy-write the order-do nothing. i left 2% on the table today, i left 10% on the table last week and all i had to do was fucking commit. anybody else go through this? is it even worth the thought? because I see it as--- if I'm right, I gained 1-2%. if I'm wrong, I can be comfortable holding this stock while I'm out of the game for a few days to a few weeks

If you get the direction right and get the bonus of buying options at low IV you have at least 5x of your init. On average it's a win. The super obvious things won't move the market though since it's "priced in". Trump was "unexpected" same for Brexit.

Is it better to get rid of all that debt in one pop or should I capitalise about $3000 so I can reduce interest and pay the loan off over a longer period for credit points?

Good choice... DIS starting to look cheap, probably gonna pick some more up if tomorrow is another red day.

But it won't be, because everyone else probably thinking the same. People not nearly scared enough.

My thinking is absolutely shit right now. I can't think of anything stock related, I just keep reading things and not really having any strong feelings towards anything. I've kept my eye on Uber, Lyft, Baidu, and BABA. I feel like Lyft/Uber is going down the tubes right now, but once they figure out their business model they'll be quite profitable. I like Lyft a bit more because they have their hands in less things and seem to be closer to finding out a profitable business model.

Yes, the dividend is the whole point, but the idea is you can hold it for long term and when/if the market recovers because it is a REIT the dividend will also recover. I'm not too sure honestly. All of it's peers have cut their dividend, but like I said the last time we spoke about this, NRZ at the very least appears to have prepared for this situation. I've got a long term view on all of this, especially considering I am somewhat moving up in life and the amount of money I have to invest will be going up somewhat soon and will be going up again once I graduate uni soon. I'm not too concerned with any of my holdings tanking. In fact, I hope many of them tank so I can buy more since I think I've bought most of these a little too high.

Brainlet. If you want shiny shit with nice patterns, buy jewelry.

If you want to invest in precious metals, you buy the investment vehicle with the lowest premiums and that's an ETF.

Alternatively you can buy Gold mining stocks.
