you pay fees for convince, for trust and for access and regulatory security. you can solve this by using an illegal distributed trading system where you have a high level of trust with your peers

distributed because there's no platform to charge for access (you'll have to find traders yourself though)
you need to be able to trust your peers because you dont want to have to lease trust from a 3rd party (ie an escrow service or a incentivized mining platform)
illegal because the SEC is gonna charge you fees just to exist

I'm still working out the maths and benefits for writing a credit spread instead of just a call alone, but yea i basically buy an otm call with the credit received. The idea being that should the stock rocket upwards I get to keep it and most of its gains as opposed to being assigned outright. Below the long leg of the spread, it functions exactly like a covered call would otherwise, just at a slightly less premium.

There's 2 main benefits to doing this as opposed to just writing a call alone:
>Can sell the far otm if it rockets shortly after writing the spread, then buy a new otm or just hold.
>Can profit if the stock rockets past the spread because I'm holding shares; you also don't lose the shares and continue to hold them because the short leg will exercise against the long leg.
The motivation is to simply stop being assigned and not lose out on bigly gains upwards. I believe with the current volatility, I'm not being fairly compensated for just writing calls alone.

The only disadvantage is, if I'm below the long leg of the spread, it's the same as writing a call except with slightly worse premium. I would've been better off just writing a call in that case. Also i don't know what domscumm is but it sounds fucking retarded, just purchasing far otm options is a good way to get JUSTed.

Koyfin is an excellent analysis site

>> No.15186961

>>15186910
One question that you have to answer for such an analysis has to do with time:
When are you actually buying/selling the options?
When you feel like it?
Weekly? Beginning of each month? Or a time-synthetic strategy with various triggers for selling/buying options of various durations?

>> No.15187033

>>15186961
I think you can be flexible with this strategy. I haven't analyzed it yet, but I think if you want to do weekly spreads, you want them tight so you aren't caught in the middle as often. If you do monthly or such you can widen the spread to get bigger premiums as protection for when it falls, or to give yourself more time to get over the long leg's strike. Ideally with this strategy, you want to find yourself just below or way above the spread legs; being inside the spread is still profitable of course, since you're holding the stock, it's just simply not a better scenario than the other two.

I'm gonna avoid short options since msft dividend is wednesday (or at least, i'll write a far otm), but I'm gonna start doing weekly spreads on msft and amd to try it out.

Your thesis is free college makes for more intelligent population, right? Okay, see, that's not what happens. All it does is motivate universities to expand their waste of time humanities faculties to meet the needs of the stupid people now flooding the system. It also does help that these same democrats want to open up the borders to the third world. Inexpensive access to college does not produce more skilled workers in in demand fields. Several advanced fields are already extremely competitive to enter despite the cost each student must shoulder as part of the deal.

also, democrats arent for open borders. and if the republicans actually were interested in secure borders, they would have accepted the 26 Billion democrats offered them for border security with tthe stipulation they couldnt use it to build a wall. imagine the amount of personnel, drones, etc 26 billion could buy, compared to spendiong the same on a wall, before any maintenance, where one fucking cartel member with a saw takes out an entry point. republicans wouldnt dare stifle a source of cheap employment

Ya
There is a nature and nurture component to intelligence. But the nurture part is really early. By the time a kid is 18 they're either going to be a good citizen or not. Sending idiots to college is just a waste of money, no matter who pays
Also hard agree that making something "free" (guarantee that someone else will pay for it) is a very good way to ensure that quality will go down and price will go up. It might not have been the same way 60+ years ago (ex, things like the GI Bill were good on the whole). In that case, a bunch of men who weren't dumb were sent to college for productive degrees.
It should be obvious why that kind of program can be successful, while a "free college for anyone, any major" type of program will not be

While I wait for AMRN's new review date results I'll be actively stuffing as much cash as I can in the bank.

If the FDA decides to be fools and assholes I'll be hitting the sell button right quick. Sure I'll take a loss but nothing compared to the shit if I don't sell.

All that extra Cash stuffing plus whatever I walk away with after selling would only replace a small fraction of the amount required to get me back to "even". Before the brokerage, before the debt, etc. I'd still be looking at a 14k shortfall.

If the FDA does the right thing and AMRN flys and I get my Green Bags of Cash I'll clear 14 - 40k from this alone.

A physical barrier of some kind would be beneficial, but a flying wall of drones on the southern border continuously patrolling Westward and Eastwards 24/7 would mean that NO illegals could come through without being intercepted.

From that point all you would need is a mobile fast reaction force to return them to the Mexican side of the border.

It is physically possible and if Trump played his cards right in 2017 he could have done it. But he didn't because he is a retard.

That cuts off the 1st problem of illegal immigration by land, but then you have the existing illegals within the country, illegal immigrants by plane and then the legal non-white immigrants.

This isn't even mentioning everyone that has achieved citizenship in the last 40 years that isn't of European ancestry.

America's demographics are a baked cake at this point.

When you invest money, your goal is to buy low, and sell high. So, when you buy into a company with massive future prospects that is currently at a low value, you are banking on those prospects to come to thruition, thereby increasing the value and making you money. This is investment 101.

Just recently spent another $1200 to fix some shit that came up. So grand total $24,200.00

So to break even, to get back to where I was at and still keep my brokerage account active I need 24k at minimum. AMRN is my only hope to do this in a short time span (relatively speaking).

I think I follow you, but just double check my math here:
The amount of drugs that seem promising is far greater than the amount of drugs that are ever actually used, and it's impossible to tell if they will work as intended or what kinds of side-effects they will have until they are thoroughly tested. Many companies fail to jump through the hoops the FDA requires, and even those that do can be pursuing a drug that doesn't show any benefit over competitors that already exist or are in development. There has to be a major upside for new drugs to ever get used, and buying early stage pharmas is a crapshoot. It's gambling, and not in the sense that all investments are a gamble. It's almost purely speculation with tremendous downside risk.

And then regulator, government, companies all take it very seriously that it is a good thing on their resume if the market keep rising so they do everything to make it continue rising. Even thought the regulator know that the market was overheated, they still can't put too many measures into the market to counter that, fearing the market would stop rising.
Combined with the fact that the Chinese market function like a casino, where barely anyone think about the matter that how much should a company actually worth and instead are all betting speculatively based on news and policies, with news and policy being generated by government and such that are interested in keeping the market rising, and you can only bet on one side as back then the Chinese market didn't really have any tools that can allow shorting, then you will get what happened there at the time

high hopes, hype, and probably the fact that early investors see their investment plummet immediately if they price it too low.

I don't really know, honestly. But from what I've seen, if they IPO or uplist without a viable product, they bleed for a very long time until MAYBE they rally off of a good trial or FDA approval, and then resume bleeding until they SOMETIMES get a big catalyst like a buyout or partnership.

They appeal to poors because they can 10X in one day... but that day only comes for a few companies, and only after years of getting cheaper and cheaper.

A lot of bio companies start out with an idea, some basic concept of what they're wanting to do. They develop drugs to fit that plan. If the science all works out, hey great. That's the easy part (not really this takes years and lots of money)

A lot fail at this point. The science falls apart, they run out of money or some combo of those.

Part 2 is getting past the FDA. They look over all the data and shit. If the drug is a winner then your a rich fuck basically from then on. Big Pharma will buy out the company to get there hands on the Drug's long term Profit. Sometimes if the company shows promise they'll get bought before they get to the FDA stage.

If the FDA shit cans it, well your fucked. Sure you can resubmit and shit but by then your stock price is zero or close to it. So no money.

>Part 1: Drug discovery (actually making a drug or drugs to use)
>Part 2: Preclinical stage (figuring out how the drug works and testing it in animals, this stage can take decades)
>Part 3: Clinical stage (Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3 trials with each trial being successively longer, larger, and more expensive)
>Part 4: FDA approval (this decision is based on the results of the company's clinical trials)
>Part 5: Marketing the drug (most small biotechs have a very hard time actually selling the drug if they aren't partnered with/acquired by a big pharma company, though some mid-cap biotechs can pull it off well)

I told him some uncomfortable truths...

He's right about me and Merck though, I really like Merck.
It's just a well-run company with great drugs that's kicking the snot out of other pharmas like Pfizer. It can't go up forever, but I think they have a very bright decade ahead of them, unless someone finally tops keytruda.

LPTX's recent trials have been using Merck's keytruda drug, which has been a real miracle for many cancer patients, and has been gaining approval for more uses.

Merck has also stated that they're not looking for big, expensive deals, rather they're looking for "bolt-on deals" which makes me hope, against all odds, that they'll acquire LPTX.

That being said, it's a total gamble, and I'd rather own Merck than LPTX (I own both). Investing on the hopes of future acquisitions is more like gambling.

Merck, UNH, and JNJ are my three healthcare favorites, and the Dems have given us some great buying opportunities. Thank you Bernie!

>I want to have one or two as pets. The bamboo would bankrupt me but that is a price I'm willing to pay
China would not allow that. Nowadays all panda around the world are sent out by China, usually as gift to strengthen bilateral diplomatic ties, so that if countries relationship with China degraded, they can stop sending new panda to those countries after old one die or in case those panda were only lend out they can recall them, so that those countries will be deprived of panda. Even if those panda are able to breed new little panda in foreign countries, the bilateral agreement that send those panda to foreign countries would demand them to be returned back to China. Allowing private ownership of panda will break this entire system and that's something China would not allow as long as CPC remain in power.

>ATHX (need to do more DD on this one, but they're a stroke biotech with basically no competition in their niche)

Interesting about them changing the way they handle the protests... I don't know what that means, but if that's true, the end of september could be a very chaotic time, globally. Brexit is also scheduled for October. (and there's a fed meeting in september 18)

Are you getting enough nutrients? The hot dogs have plenty of protein and fat (which should be the bulk of your diet) but do they have calcium and iron and stuff? Maybe your circulation is bad and it's cutting off the blood from your teeth? They're living bone, they need that right?
You ever get sharp, poking pains in your lower back that travel up under your ribcage on both sides? Also nikki has a will of blackened iron, and I harbor a probably pretty dangerous and medically unsound theory that quitting opioids is actually easier than quitting alcohol if you're a bad enough alcoholic. Being dopesick is fucking horrible, but alcohol withdrawals can kill you. I had a month where I was fucking around with a few oxy 20s a day, stopped and I had a shivery pukey weekend. Nothing compared to h, but I can approximate the feeling. I once was stranded without booze for 2 days and it felt apocalyptic, literally like I was John of Patmos watching the world end, heart rate 150 bpm, full body shakes, this crazy feeling like ASMR tingles but absolutely wracking my legs, sounded like I was deaf when I talked, shit was wild.

I haven't known rat as long as you seem to, so I can't make any claims. >>15192698
as soon as they cut their dividend, it was a sign that things were going to be bad for years. Add in the accounting "difficulties" and the fact that they're spinning off business so they can keep selling shit like velveeta... I don't understand how they've missed the food zeitgeist so badly. No mother goes and buys kraft mac and cheese when there's an entire display of friendly looking annie's right next to it, and it says something or other that about natural or organic.

One of the things I like about NRZ is they seem to be in a defensive position for all interest rates scenarios, obviously they would prefer a rising rate situation. I'm not sure how much of this is them blowing smoke up our asses, but it's somewhat convincing at the very least. One of the things they mentioned on the earnings call before the most recent one was that the MSR's they own rights to are longer term more financially stable ones. I'm not too sure if this is bullshit either, but it's nice to hear.

One thing I did notice about the KHC call was they did mention plant based substitutes. I giggled a bit when they said that, it reminded me of that one anon prophesying KHC will be the largest plant based processor in the world and that it's essentially their endgame to BTFO BYND. Also apologizes, I'm pretty buzzed and I never drink so I have no clue how coherent all of this was.

I read NRZ's earnings slides because they have some of the most clear and concise ones I have ever seen. Everything is so easy on the eyes. I'm a little FUD because of the preferred stock and the fact that all their peers appear to be floundering. Lately I have been extremely flippant on my opinions and susceptible to articles. Not a good feeling anon. Feels like I have no idea what I'm doing. Every since Cypress Semiconductor got bought off, I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing and what I believe in. I got a small position in Sierra Wireless, but it's so damn hard to create a thesis around it other than "IOT" and "5G".
