Look at Chainlink. A dozen of centralized nodes querying themself for the price of ETH and getting paid by the Chainlink team.
There simply are no smart contracts that would be willing to pay $1 per data call to an oracle.
Maybe there will be in couple of years, but meanwhile the only sane investment is BTC.
