BTC is the secure option, the long term store of value, *because* the rising fees make it beat the nash equilibrium ever single time by default. Most people don't need that. It's less like a currency and more like a bond. Mathematically it can't be beaten *because* it's too inconveniently expensive and slow to become the normal means of transferring value between plebs.
