According to Bloomberg, China's overall economy is ~300% of GDP in debt.
If we assume average interest of 3% on that debt, we get 9% of GDP in interest payments.
If GDP growth is 6.5% doesn't that mean that China's economy HAS to take 2.5% of GDP in more debt to cover the interest?

So is China completely fucked unless it maintains a growth above 9%?

Here's another twist to add to that scenario. China has been propping up the value of the Yuan by purchasing their own currency from themselves using USD to keep the price stable. The other night when the value suddenly dropped, all it took was them slowing the purchase of their own currency.
So if they were to stop completely, there is no telling how far the Yuan would fall before reaching a stable price.
