I only wish I either never messed with fucking mobas or at least stuck to my "pro" career.

We had a LoL team way back in 2009, where only pro scene was the esl weekly tournaments rewards were $100... I mean considering the team was 5 people, $20 wouldn't even cover the electricity bill for the training sessions. We played for few moths, got some placements but after I decided it wasn't worth it, they couldn't find a replacement for me, so team disbanded.

I'm talking about the time where junglers would farm 30 min non stop with very rare ganks, I'd play extremely aggresive junglers, usually with early/mid game power spikes to get our top/mid fed. Noone at the time would do similar things, maybe few outcasts" or one trick ponies...

If I never messed with that shit, I'd probably graduate way earlier with way better gpa and would work for intel,samsung or similar giants. wagecuck till I'm 65, never hear about btc, or buy late and lose few grands.

i think i'm in the meaningless camp too. do whatever you think is better for you, whether that means making more social connections or whatever.
i volunteer 2 months a year now coaching kid's sports but it's not like i make meaningful connections or will get a job from it.

I agree. Me wasting time in videogames as a teenager led me to have a firm grasp of the english language which otherwise I wouldn't have learned and it gave me access to higher quality information. Were it not for the video games I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't have known so many other sites (blogs, videos, etc) with so much truth in them.

I have far more ambitions than the people around me because I know a whole lot more about the world than them, and this wouldn't be the case if I only spoke the local language and my sources of information were boomer TV and social media.

Governments will always try to limit your knowledge of the outside because otherwise their people would always know there's always a better life for them somewhere out there and leave. This is why government run schools in the West pretend to be teaching you foreign languages but only do so very superficially so you'll forget about them and why many african countries have made satellite TV illegal so the tax cattle don't leave en masse.

The importance of having access to high value information cannot be understated.
