Rsr holders get the contractual right to buy/sell arbitrage opportunities on RSV, the coinbase/PayPal/former SEC big wig backed stablecoin that will replace tether, dai, and every dogshit Fiat dollar in the world other than USD, jpy, etc.

And it costs 0.0028 per token right now.

call me stupid
but doesn't this mean that RSR is only valuable so long as RSV is > $1?
When RSV < $1, doesn't this have a downward pressure on the RSR token?

>> No.14999491

>>14999446
>but doesn't this mean that RSR is only valuable so long as RSV is > $1?
Yes, that is when it can be burned at a profit to stabilize the peg.
>When RSV < $1, doesn't this have a downward pressure on the RSR token?
No, the RSV can be redeemed for the underlying assets. There is only downward pressure on RSR if more is minted, which only happens if RSR is >$10.

Price projections:
It is important to point out that the Reserve protocol was designed around the concept of a high price for RSR - which is why the devs see a target of $10 in the 3-5 year range. The higher the price for RSR the more resiliant and stable RSV becomes.
2019 eoy: $0.05
2020 eoy: $0.40
2021 eoy: $1.30
2022 eoy: $2.80

Now you got me confused. The price of RSR does not matter when you buy/sell RSV via the Reserve Protcol (smart contract app/dapp, not yet released)

Assuming RSR is 25 cents

If RSV dips to $0.98 from $1, presenting an arbitrage opportunity of 2 cents per coin THEN it will cost you 3.92 RSR to buy 1 RSV @ $0.98 (instead of 4 RSR) allowing you to profit when it's back at $1

In theory you could do that, but you could buy the RSV with any token and profit in the same way.
The arb opp with RSR comes when RSV is above the peg. If RSV is $1.10 you can use your RSR in an auction to buy excess RSV for <$1 and sell it for >$1.
If RSV dips to $0.98 you can buy it and redeem it for $1 worth of the tokenized collateral (which at launch time will be other stablecoins). Use that stablecoin to buy RSV for <$1, and repeat until the profit opportunity is gone.

RSR has such a small marketcap it's unbelievable. We are so early.

>> No.15000289

tell me why I should buy this when over half of the coins are already owned by the team? I don't want to get dumped on like the LINKies

>> No.15000297

>>15000226
Actually it's not an auction. The smart contract is called The Auctioneer, but the price is set to $1 worth of RSR:
>If this excess pool exists, then the Reserve Manager will sell Reserve tokens from that pool for $1 worth of Reserve Rights tokens each, allowing Rights holders to perform an arbitrage loop that brings the price back down to $1.

>> No.15000336

>>15000289
>55.75% of total tokens are held by the foundation with a specialized lockup, and are stored in a smart contract referred to as the "slow wallet." Slow wallet tokens are locked, and can only be withdrawn with four-week delay visible on-chain including message from the team explaining the withdrawal. This mechanism was designed by the Reserve team to give the project the ability to release tokens for fundraising and other purposes, while allowing the market to price in that information well before any newly released tokens can be sold by the project.
If the team wants to move large amounts of tokens without giving a good reason you have four weeks to dump your tokens before they can withdraw.

Just be smart enough to take profits. LINK was a good investment if you were smart enough to get in early and actually sell at what was an obviously unsustainable pump to $4 instead of waiting for $1000 EOY. That being said RSR is going to $10 in the next 3-5 years. I'll be cashing out half my stack when it happens as that is the only time they can dump on us without warning.

tokens are in a slow wallet locked until after main launch and not able to be moved without 4 weeks notice + explanation from the team. The only people you should be worried about dumoing on you are peter thiel and the other vc's who are in on this project and probably 10x already by now

your argument is essentially that Reserve (RSV) isn't adopted as a world reserve currency system.
my argument is that it will be since its the most advanced stable currency concept to date and when that happens the market cap wont be around 1 trillion, it would be close to 30 trillion if not much much more.
