Well, looks like I have to go back to work after all. I left Gamestop in April 2018 btw, had a 400k portfolio then which is now down to 20k...

Get rid of interests. Make skills more prominent.
Work descriptions are too generic and lengthy.

this has to be a parody resume mocking people who try to sell their minimum wage jobs as work experience.

the give away is the guy getting fired on his first day at Wal-Mart then putting that on his resume. it's subtle but lol when you see it.

>> No.14818225

If you would remove the "Interests" part, you probably would even land a job at anything related to sales.

Are the interests really that big of a turn off? I thought employers want to see you have interests and hobbies outside of wagecucking. I read somewhere that it gives the recruiter something to bring up during the interview.

I'm confused.. I hate this corporate dog-and-pony show dance. It's all so fake.

You have to modulate yourself a bit. Anime has pretty negative connotations to some people, but it also doesn't really show any character - because you're effectively saying "I like to watch TV", it'd be just as bad to put "Breaking Bad" or even "reading books".
Come up with something you like somewhat genuinely which shows a modicum of intelligence or passion. For me, I put "Italian Futurist paintings - I ran an art blog at university" and "running: I took part in X marathon". Both of these statements are true.
Think of something you might've done (even at school) that would've made your parents proud and put that on there.

Winning a notable swimming competition, maintaining a high-traffic blog, volunteering at a kids hospital, etc., might be interests worth mentioning on your resume.

Watching Netflix and skipping rope -- they couldn't care less.

And if you really have nothing and have any amount of time, I'd recommend volunteering for something or doing an activity. You can definitely massage the truth, but you'd have to get your facts pretty straight if that's path you're going down.

As an IT guy, they almost always ask me if I watch anime anyway, but you have to read the mood, if there's a skinny nerdy guy interviewing you, of course you can mention it (if they ask about your hobbies), but if you're talking to a normal person, just avoid it, that's why you shouldn't put it on your resume, same with imageboards.

>> No.14818501

>>14818225
I'd do the opposite personally. I'd remove any obfuscation of the facts (e.g. just say "Cashier @ Walmart" and lay out truth) but focus more heavily on personal interests.
I said this on another post, but if you really care about crypto, create a blog and write 10-15 200-300 word articles and back date them to make it seem genuine. That'd be a major, MAJOR asset on CV - they could care less if you've done some menial jobs, but it's good to show you've been employed regularly.
