Advancements are slow and people aren't keen to hop to new platforms that spring up fucking fast due to how quickly this space is moving in regard to tech.

That being said, ETH is propped up due to 95% of all alts getting made by using it a few years ago. However, their first mover advantage will only continue to dwindle if they can't scale for years or push updates without breaking things. Eventually, businesses are going to need something faster and more reliable.

Also food for thought: up until this point every other "ETH killer" managed to improve the tps by sacrificing decentralization and security like with Tron and EOS. Harmony is a STRAIGHT upgrade, and is everything ETH 2.0 is trying to be, over a year before they'll actually be able to get to implementing it.
