Thing is, the community comes up with all sorts of memes, but just because it doesn't moon for those specific reasons doesn't mean it wont moon. For example, oldfags might remember 21.co(21e6) from 2015. They were a secretive company with the most funding in Bitcoin history, backed by huge companies like Qualcomm. They were as hyped as Bakkt is now. People speculated they were coming up with some incredible mining technology that would put miners in toasters and cell phones, and bitcoin adoption would go parabolic. Turned out to be a service to send spam emails. But guess what, Bitcoin went to $20k anyways.
