Think about how much publicity Facebook put out regarding Libra and consider how much talk of antitrust there has been in the states.

They know they're under investigation for antitrust, so why the fuck would they launch a cryptocurrency with such publicity which would make antitrust proceedings even worse? Why wouldn't they stealth rollout?

The only rational explanation is that they want to keep Libra in play or speculated as long as possible to keep regulators focusee on the red herring while they make other plays in cryptospace.
