I will subpoena all your records from crypto exchanges and prosecute those exchanges which do not comply. All your crypto will be confiscated, if the records indicate you are in possession and you do not comply, you will be arrested and jailed until such time you transfer all your crypto assets to the state.

Drug laws are easier to enforce, yet despite this drug laws have proven to be largely unenforceable in the United States. Bitcoin laws would prove impossible to enforce since Bitcoin has no weight, smell, or shape.
The price of drugs went up as a result of their legal status, I suspect Bitcoin would rise in value if it was made illegal as well, since it is an unstoppable and irreversible store of value&transfer. Coinjoins and other unstoppable technology will sever the link between KYC coins and identity, increasing the plausible deniability of would-be Bitcoin criminals.

Why make Bitcoin illegal to stop ransomware? Why not just have better security and regular backups?

>> No.14507900

>>14506926
Crypto isnt the cause of the breach, and if they make crypto illegal it will just push the cost of meeting ransom demands higher when it's harder to trade.

They're not going to declare crypto illegal. They're just going to require a paper trail and make it taxable. They don't have to outlaw it, just crush you with back taxes and related criminal penalties.

You don't see that crypto is providing a tremendous incentive for attacks like those cited to proliferate and seek larger targets?

Crypto is a tremendous danger to many systems and those systems will not idly let themselves be attacked.

Keeping the BTC you own.
>Move crypto from an exchange to hard wallet.
>Claim hack
Either:
>Move from hard wallet to exchange that does not require KYC and buy gold sent to an unregistered PO BOX which cannot be traced.
>Cash out on local bit coins
>Cash out using Bitcoin ATMs.

Or hide coins e.g.
>Monero
>Use a bitcoin tumbler.

Or set up an LLP or trust in the Cayman Islands where you literally cannot trace financial transactions.

Easy. Government crypto wallets. They use exchange data to identify how much you have, then order you transfer it to the appropriate wallet.

It's not that simple to identify how much you have. They can seize the exchange data, wallet data, which is already a shit ton, but how do they distinguish where your crypto has been and currently is? Would have to trace every transaction, link it to your identity at every point, etc. Complicated as fuck, and if they are ever capable of this, new software to mask your crypti further will emerge immediately
