The reason it's on coinbase and gemini is that it uses BOTH private and public addresses. By using the public addresses only, both exchanges are able to make ZEC compliant with US Fin Regs.

That's literally the only reason it's on CB/Gemini and not XMR. The optional privacy allows for compliance.

Zcash is a fork of Zcoin (XZC) which is god tier. Gives me 2012 Bitcoin vibes and has actual linage back to BTC. Solid backing, strong community, and well distributed. releasing Sigma and later this year Lelantus (Monero is looking to integrate). Once Lelantus hits main it will be the best privacy coin available. Plus halvening coming up next year.

Monero is listed on the following US based exchanges: Poloniex, Kraken, Bittrex, Beaxy, Huobi US. Of these, at least Kraken has real fiat/xmr pairs, never used any of the other exchanges.

Zcash is on coinbase because its not private by default, and coinbase only allows non-private transactions.
