yeah, six figures means just north of 100k. that's a pretty good salary in most circles. if you make more than that and feel the need to say anything about it you don't talk about 'making 6 figures' you talk about making a quarter mill or half mill or whatever.
don't be jealous. understand, we love being able to say that we make 6 figures. you would too.

if she's able to climb the corporate ladder sure, would probably need a sr. director or equivalent position. to be honest tho i think security positions are overpaid right now because not enough people are in the know. i used to write keygens for software and reverse engineer malware for fun, so i can usually hang with the best of the security folks and they're not as technical as i would hope... just install vendor software and manage from there without knowing the fundamentals.

>> No.14138110

>>14138025
yeah her technical side is lacking desu, as in she knows a lot of the pros and cons of the different software etc for company implementation and ensuring it gets done, but rarely reverse engineers, codes, or digs under the hood herself anymore. We'll be headed to Boston next year for the final subspecialization years for my medical residency; and I think that'll be her biggest shot to move up significantly in paygrade since she has a lot of contact with bigger companies out there like Sophos and won't be in the midwest.

this is a little /vg/ but there's an apocalypse simulator called CDDA, simulating a zombie (and other) apocalypse in the modern Bennington VT area in great detail. I made a guy who was a Kenyan bronze medalist runner who started butt naked with a wet towel on in a burning building in a town with zombies in it about to break in through the windows. Butt naked, I sprinted to a nearby church and closed the doors. The zombies seemed more distracted by the burning building. Eventually I got clothes from the church dorm and some food and escaped town, whereupon eventually I killed a black lab with a frying pan and butchered and ate it, which is not quite dog soup, but pretty close. CDDA. you want the experimental build.

Firefighter-Paramedic =$120,000 a year salary at 8 shifts a month (24s)

Flight critical care medic (aka vent jockey) = $100,000 a year salary at 7 shifts a month (24 hours)

I'm top 0.1% of industry but it's not impossible. Get a degree, get every auxiliary cert available and put 10 years in and if you are under 170lbs (to make flight weight) and not an idiot you can make decent money.

While I'm stateside, attached is an entry level job in Iraq for a flight paramedic. Those contracts can exceed $400,000 if you are up there in quals.
