I make 65k which isn't bad at 24, but cost of living where I am is so big that more than half of my after tax salary would go to rent, and then bills+food would leave me with less than 500 dollars a month to save. If she does that for a few years, divorce laws incentivize her to break up since you have to compensate her for lost wagies because she quit her work to take care of a child, even if you've been supporting her the whole time.
