13900899 No.13900899 [Reply] [Original]

Google Trends confirms that BSV was pumped by Chinese. CZ was right. I have no idea what exactly agitated chinks so hard that they all rushed to buy it (I don't speak Chinese), but the data for the past 24 hours is here:

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=now%201-d&q=bsv&hl=en

Notice that Chinese rarely use Google. They're mostly using domestic stuff like Baidu. If Chinese volume peaked so noticeably on Google, it must be absolutely enormous on Baidu. There was literally a mass hysteria.

That changes everything because the entire argument was about "China" and not "Chinese people from neighboring countries". How do we know it isn't just a bunch of people from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore using Chinese internet services to look up stuff? China is a major powerhouse and has a shit ton of services that even the Japanese use a lot. Google has even confirmed that they do not operate in the country of China and offer no internet services there. Any data you see about China on Google Services is not legitimate because Google doesn't work over there. >Yes, that sounds like plausible. I honestly don't know where Google gets these stats
Google gets the stats from geographical data points from use on their search engine, but since we know that they don't actually operate in certain parts of the globe, this complicates things. This is the reason why when someone brought up "google accounts" it was fucking stupid because google trends doesn't dictate data from accounts, but the general location of the ip pinging into their service. A VPN user in China isn't going to show up as someone from China, it's going to ping their IP to a different country, since its the only way for them to actually use the service. If you asked me, it's probably just people in neighboring countries using Chinese services and pinging into Chinese ip's when looking up stuff through said services.

If you're still trying to argue about google in China then a quick search will show you that google does not have any services available there because they got banned. Still trying to argue about this just makes you look dumb.
