a work for a recruitment firm, and recruit quite a bit for big 4
those who stick around beyond the usual 2-3 years out of school and either bona fide sociopaths or strapped for cash
big 4 are a great resume builder, nut everyone working there is miserable
pay is ok, as long as you don't look at it from an hourly point of view, because you then realize you're not so far above minimum wage.
Lastly, either the anglo saxon (especially british) approach of externalizing all support, either half other Big 4 workforce will be.
Next gen ERPs basically just need tech support, and one guy telling them which specs he wants. Number crunching and closings are virtually fully automatized, give it a few more years and accounting will become another job that used to exist.

agree with everything u say.

i still cant believe how badly they are behind technology. in my team, they could fire 80% and hire a few coders and the efficiency would increase 10x.

sad! hopefully im out soon

What is big4

>> No.13741433

It is the politics that makes me want to end it. I am not even sure how Big4 pulls a profit when all of their staff are so fucking incompetent at their actual job but good at playing the game.

I worked for KPMG for 4 years in Audit. Hours and workload was a nightmare, would never go back and do it again.
Only upside was that we had a big intake in my graduate year group, so whenever we went out there was like 30 of us. Made for some massive nights.

ahahahah

i can confirm this too

not sure if its just my department, but the athmosphere is extremely feminine. no incentive to work hard since over time is hard to approve and a lot of bs politics going on

Worked for one Big4 in commercial audit for two years, then a decent stent at a smaller firm for about the same duration, and wanted to go in-house or advisory. Tried first to go in-house but they didn’t like that I wasn’t current Big4, so I ended up taking an advisory role at another Big4. Got a 30% bump in pay. My recommendation: go Big4 and start looking for a new role 1-2 years after starting (preferably when you hit senior or manager).
