Graduated a week ago with a MechE degree. Been searching for a job for the past 3 months with no luck. Almost every job posting says they want someone with experience. Do I still apply to those?
Did I get memed on, biz? What do :(

>> No.13732134

Think of it as a employer shit test. HR roasties put ridiculous requirements for a job but end up settling for what they can get. Apply anyway. HR roasties don't know what their doing

sometimes jobs must be posted by law, so they make the job requirements so ridiculous that no one tries to apply or if they do then they can turn it down referencing the impossible requirements and then hire their relative

>> No.13732166

>>13732061
Yes, you still apply to those.
You have 3 years experience working any job? That counts if you can extrapolate how.
Did work as a cashier? You have good customer skills and can work pleasantly under pressure.
Worked as the line cook? You're capable of fulfilling job requests quickly and without excess waste.
Did you open or close a store? You're capable of working on a time schedule and performing tasks in an orderly fashion.
You also interned while you were in school? Over the summer?

This. It's lazy stupid women and their unrealistic and never happy nature.

There's tons of info on this, but nowadays you just copy paste all the keywords from their post into your uploaded resume...their basic pajeet algo shows you hit 98% best candidate, and the dumb bleeder invites you to jump through the 3-5 rounds of hoops to make it to someone with an actually meaningful postilion in the company.

Also, you're probably not going to get any job if you're not a black tranny bilingual in spic...at least in America. Or you'll being doing the work of the 75% of your office that is black trannies or "underrepresented white women of STEM" if you're a passable trap/look like a queer.

Should've taken all those jewish loans and put in on shitcoins, all things considered.

Engineering is the only career where you work as hard as a doctor and make less than a nurse. Honestly just become an electrician: you will make way more money and have a less stressful work environment.

"no"

They want real experience, i.e. 3-4 internships. Bullshitting about experience you don't have will get you blacklisted.

>> No.13732431

IT is worse. Job requirements for even a basic job is way overblown. Your basic low rung IT dude only needs A+. Sometimes Net+.

What "they" (H.R) say; 2 yrs exp, bachelor degree or 4 yrs exp in lieu of bachelor.

Could I see the above as a legit requirement for higher level positions, sure. But not just starting out. The whole system is a big joke (E.D).

Education system is a big cluster fuck. Go to high school - forced to do shit that has zero to do with learning shit you'll really need.
Go to college - forced to take shit classes that you don't need or use just to get a piece of paper that means fuck all once you land your first job. The thing winds up in a box or attic. The only difference is that those college classes cost you a fuckton and you spend a nice part of your life paying off the bill.

I'll be honest as fuck. I went to just H.S. I landed a nice state job. I don't remember half the shit I learned/forced to do while I was at school. More to the point there's no call for it at my job other than the basic math. But hell even for that you can just pull out your phone.

College is a joke itself. Sure in the 70's/80's/90's yeah it was a way to tell people "hey I got more skills" or "I know more shit"

The trouble now is that everyone or close to it has a college degree in "something" Could be something as generic as "Lit studies" or "general studies" and they are pulling down major bucks. Why? Cause they went, they got that paper. Even if the job itself has zero to do with Literature or any studies of any type.

So the value of college is lost. Everyone's got it, everyone took the same general shit. h.r types don't care. You say "I went to college" H.R goes "so what" The only way you may get an eyebrow raised is if you went to a ivy league school or got honors.
